Hi all, was just wondering what people use and recommend in the way of 300B based headphone amps? Preferably something with balanced in/outs, but they're not an absolute necessity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although I have never heard it there is at least one Headfier who reckons this is the best thing since sliced bread:

I am not sure if it accepts a balanced input (didn't check) but the company has an excellent reputation.

Another vote for the Cary 300sei as an intro to the 300B sound. Also, it is one of the less expensive integrated 300B amps with HP out.

Looking at a budget anywhere up to around $2,000 at this stage (although I'm somewhat flexible - just don't tell the missus! Of course, if there are cheaper options I'm also happy to explore these). I would prefer hardware who's primary function is designed around headphone use, not loudspeakers. Thanks.

I have to agree that the Cary 300SEI is the best 300B headphone amp I have heard. I like the Sophia tubes best.
