STAX SRS-2170 all day, every day.

I did consider STAX but that would mean a new amp and all and I didn't want to have to stick 2 amps on my desk.

  Just look for the most forgiving headphone.
J-Pop generally sounds like ass and really revealing headphones will just emphasize the ass.

Anyone have experience with K712 or K7XX? I was considering getting them to replace my AD900x (I use these for JPop mostly).

p.s. I use an AKG Q701 but the 2khz peak will ruin your day once you listen to smoother headphones. It's sweet, but it's unnatural. What were your issues with the AD900X? I always wanted those, but the a900x were cheaper.

Just comfort mainly. I hate the 3D support thing they use but other than that I really love the sound. The K712/K7XX looks way more comfortable to me and if they sounded similar I would definitely buy them.

SRS-2170 is already the headphone + amp.
 
Well, I had the K7XX but looking back now, they weren't that exciting. HD650 is more exciting.

Oh I meant having to stick another amp onto my desk along with my current one. I'm also buying a tube amp relatively soon which would mean I would have a total of 3 amps on my desk which is not ideal for my tiny desk
