Listening to a pair of Sherwood SP-200's powered by the O2 on my bed....
It's really anoying how putting anything between me and the speakers will ruin the sound
and so will resting my head on the pillow.

Does anybody here sleep with headphones in? I've always wanted to but been too afraid that they'll break in one way or another...

my bed is lower than floor level (like under tatami mats)
and I use my macbook + DAC + Amp

There is no "my way" or "your way." Just reality. But yeah, that's generally how conversations in hifi forums go. It doesn't help that most people think that it's some sort of "argument" where there's a "winner" and a "loser" and one person is "right" while the other is "wrong" or that they are entitled to an "opinion." (I labelled the irrational or otherwise absurd social conventions with quotation marks.)

Please explain to me in detail why you think the more expensive speaker is automatically better. Otherwise, there's really nothing I can even say to that.

That's what I've been saying all along, haha. I don't know why everyone was so freaked out when someone said they were listening to speakers with an O2. If the little power meter on my receiver can be believed at all, when I turn up music super loud past the point where I would ever listen in my room, I can only just get the transients to hit 600mW.
 
 
I don't know if my posts are coming across as mildly irritated. I'm kind of on edge because I haven't been sleeping and working on school and band stuff 24/7. Also my cat's paw and head are hurt. There's a bloody gash on his head and he won't stop scratching it (with the also bleeding injured paw no less). It's impossible to get it into the carrier so I can't take it to the vet, and I'll be utterly busy the next few days, so hopefully it doesn't get an infection and die in the meantime.

I dropped it. I got to a point where I'd see a torrent for it and each week I would ask myself, WHY AM I STILL WATCHING THIS.
