I am looking into purchasing a pair of headphones that can kick the crap out of beats by dre, and I have narrowed my search to these two. Any ideas?

I bought a pair of audio technica pro700 mk2's online recently and I've noticed that the cable side (left) is significantly louder than the other side? Does anyone know what might be wrong? Thanks

Will the Ultrasound HFI 580s with the amp have better sound quality and bass than the Audio Technicas alone? Which would you recommend?
