Come on FiiO, I could understand similar issues I've faced with X5 Mk 1, but not with 3rd generation. Lock your software designers in the bunker, until they fix issues, or just go down the road and hire some chaps from Cayin, they seem to know how to make stress free software.
I am stil enchanted with X5III, sound is not quite Cowon PM2 like, but betters Cayin's I5 in the bass section and it is lovely piece of hardware with excellent placement of all external controls and FiiO player lock screen is utterly brilliant, pity other manufacturers don't follow your suite.
I am running latest 1.1.4 fw and 2 Sandisk U1 class 10 cards, one 200gb, second 128gb, both filled and internal memory almost full.
I'll update impressions as I go....

I added Internal Storage, External Storage (which for me was SD1) and then used "Specify path manually" and typed in /mnt/external_sd2"

The resume mode still fails to work for you? Did you turn on the green switch and choose song/position already? Would you mind to clear the data of the FiiO Music from settings--Apps--All--FiiO Music to see whether it helps?

You have switched to dock mode as well right? It seems to be something wrong with the USB port comes with the K5. Does your K5 have the dock in port in the back? If yes, would you mind trying collecting the computer via this port instead using the micro USB cable to see whether it helps?

Remember "FIIO SPONSOR", tell the engineers to implement a bass reinforcement to be noticed, the X5 III deserves it and more for the money that costs the device.

You are making the assumption that everyone wants this. Fine to do it if it doesn't affect everything else - but if it does anything to affect the current tonality, you'd have an uproar. Why don't you just use Neutron or a different player, and EQ to the boost you require?

BASS, mega bass, extra bass, super bass ..... call it whatever you want. It exists since the cassette existed. I guess you know what I mean and why all the electronics companies implemented it in their products, right? I assume that you know, so tell me, why a product that sells like HI-RES does not have that function and if it has an EQ that is worth almost nothing? (at least for me). And the default sound player that comes with the X5 does not have the most basic option of the musical genre ----------> REINFORCEMENT OF GRAVES IN CONDITIONS. Well, no. If the X5iii doesn't have a feature that you find so vital, thenyou should have looked elsewhere. There was never any guarantee that it would ever be implemented.

Ok since someone else mentioned that foobar2000 detects the first microSD card I've looked at my cards and slots.

Oddly enough the slot labeled 2 outside shows up in the Android settings and on Windows as the second microSD card but in the apps and that includes FiiO Music it appears as microSD #1.

So for some odd reason the apps are showing the microSD cards switched when comparing to Android, Windows and the labels on the slots.

It's not a big problem but it is odd and counter intuitive IMHO.

Play with the Viper Effects. The Fire EQ doesn't drop the volume when engaged and allows +-12dB of adjustment for a potential bass boost of 24dB.

There's also the Dynamic System in Viper Effects which gives a boost to the bass as well, and it does this differently depending on the headphone options you choose. Crank it to 100% to really hear the effect.

If you want to pay $0.50 you can purchase the Viper Effects bass boost. I haven't purchased it personally but it's another option.

There are options, you just need to put some effort in and learn the device.

Not many high end Daps offer a bass boost function out of their EQ feature.
You already have several options, use the EQ, Viper, third party app or get a can with a more bassy signature.
I don't think Fiio will work on a feature that you're the only one to need that much.
