Upcoming DAP from xDuoo - the X10!

I was looking at buying an X3 as at the moment I have an Sansa Clip + which is tiny. I like my players to have a bit of girth, not too big and not too small.

Is it worth waiting for the X10 or should I go for the X3 seeing as it can run Rockbox?

Only you can really answer that question. As the owner of a Rockboxed X3 I can tell you it is a very nice player in every sense of the word. Whether the X10 will be better and worth waiting for is anyone's guess. Rockbox is not guaranteed on the X10 - everything about it is unknown at this point, except how it looks, including what the native firmware will be like, that doesn't mean it isn't worth waiting for, it just means it's unknown.

If you want a push in one direction or another, I'd say buy the X3 now and enjoy it and if in the future the X10 proves to be better in every way, sell the X3 and buy the X10, if not, you have a great player you can start enjoying right away.

As another satisfied owner of a rockboxed x3, I  agree.  Although I would not sell the x3 if I bought the x10 as I doubt I would get much for it.  I would keep both so that I would have a spare or I would use one on the go and the other at home.  I actually mainly use my x3  set up next to my sofa in the living room.  I have it connected line out to my fiio e12a portable amp so that I can listen to my music on any of my harder to drive home headphones while relaxing at home.  If I get the x10 I will use it for that purpose and the x3 for on the go.

Ohhh snap... I'm casually checking DAP developements for a while now, and actually had my heart set on a Plenue D (I don't have a huge budget, and am awaiting a Trinity PM4 iem already..). This Xduoo X10 may make me change my mind though.... Damn :p . Just sold my XDuoo X2 btw as I was a bit underwhelmed by it. Though to be fair, I trusted the hype a bit too much - for the price it's great. Had a hard time listening to it as my phone sounded considerably better (rooted custom kernel S4).

X10 looks really good! Not talking design but functionality wise, and finally a decent screen! I don't need HD res, but impossible to read outdoors!? had to pass on the X3 for that reason..

Translated through Google, I hope it works.

Even if I zoom in I cannot read it.  Not enough resolution.  I think I can see that it is due in December.  After the x3 was announced it was a few weeks or more before people were able to get them. I did read the entire x3 thread a few months ago.  For now I am very  happy with my Rockboxed x3.  I am  not playing 24bit files though.  Rockbox would down sample them to 16bit and people on the x3 thread said that took a bit of extra time to start,if I remember correctly.  I play mostly Flac and some mp3.

I am very interested in this x10 but would also keep my x3 (it was only £59).  Always good to have a backup...although I do still have my Cowon J3 which I have not used in ages. I wonder what the pound will be worth by the time I can order an x10 :frowning2:
