Hello,

Long time on-and-off lurker on the forums here. Come here mostly to read headphone reviews and stuff.

I recently bought a Garmin Virb XE action cam which can record bluetooth audio. Long story short, I am trying to record audio wirelessly to the camera using Bluetooth and bought a JETech T2030 Bluetooth Transceiver, hoping it would be able to receive BT audio from a lapel microphone I have lying around. Have not been terribly successful with that.

Would someone be able to guide me through setting this up or point me to a way to get Bluetooth audio from a tiny microphone - small enough to fit inside me ear - to help me record audio? The idea is that I would have the microphone inside of my over-the-ear headphones that I use while flying (I'm a pilot) to record audio to the Virb.

Thanks!

Hello @ThePrambler! Welcome to Head-Fi!

Your project sounds interesting, but I don't have experience with any Bluetooth microphones, outside of an earpiece. Have you thought about looking into an earpiece for cellphones, like the Sennheiser Presence or a Jawbone earpiece? It's the only way I can think of to add a Bluetooth microphone, offhand.

I like the idea, though -- recording the audio from the headset to the Virb. I dig it.

My research brought me to purchase https://amzn.com/B014EIRNEO

It has a mic input for use with wired microphones and can be clipped on to a shirt collar. So I'll see how it goes. Probably leave a review here when I have the setup for someone else who wants to do this in the future :)
