Benjie Offical Thread

I will hazard a guess that based on the value proposition of the S5 as discussed in this thread, the T6 will also offer a lot of value for relatively low cost. Full lossless format capability including DSD file playback, a Bluetooth 4.0 implementation, quality DAC and amp circuitry and a reasonably long battery life at around US$50 seems like a deal if Benjie delivers on the promise.

Other DSPs offer the same and more but at more than double the price point, can a $50 T6 meet or beat this competition and be the value price leader in it's category?

thank you for the reply!

do we already know what DAC will be inside T6?  I tried looking at T6 product listings on google, but could not find any info.

From what I've gathered, the T6 is still in development and not close to production yet. All we've got so far is renders and a guess to the release date (something like the latter half of the year).

Made a booboo. Please refer to PJabber's post below.

Your statement describes the development status of the T8. The T8 is expected in the second half of 2017, it will be ready when it is ready.

The T6 is hardware ready for manufacturing now but Benjie apparently delayed distribution to retail partners when the initial firmware did not meet specification expectations.

I purchased three production samples of the T6 with v1.0 firmware directly from Shenzhen Benjie in December and posted various comments and photos in the "Obscure Chinese DAPs" thread as well as here in the S5 thread, you can do a search for that detail.

I do have a V2.0 firmware that Benjie sent to me a couple of weeks ago. Based on data in the .inf of that firmware, AGPtek seems to have had a hand in it. I am still waiting on Benjie to provide a bootloader or other method for actually installing it on my T6s for testing.

At least one and possibly two versions of a further firmware revision are apparently still going through coding and QA. It looks like those firmware revisions are being done in consultation with AGPtek and Rockbox based on comments made by an AGPtek staffer in the Rockbox forums.

I am an end user and not an official representative of Shenzhen Benjie so even while I am in regular communication with them I am not privy to all of their internal development activity and timelines. Just a guess on my part, but now that the Chinese New Year holiday is done with we might see everything finally gel for a T6 roll-out by the end of this month.

Looks like AGPtek is now selling their version (ROCKER) of the T6 with corrected firmware on Amazon in the U.S. (US$59.99)  and Japan (¥6890) -

S5 read Wave 24 bit, but roughly it lowers the bit depth to 16 bit

The playback speed is unstable: variance from 11025 Hz from -23,7 to +4,3 Hz.

That's interesting to see, doesn't come up in descriptions of sound quality.
