  try the burson.it´s really cheap and if you don´t like sell easy

Just ordered one, didn't know they were based where I'm at so returning would be easy!

Cheers.

  Does the Burson V5i swap make the treble smoother? Does the Xduoo get warmer from the switch? I see almost no description of the actual change in sound that results from this, other than 'tighter' and 'more detailed', which are not things I desire all that much. The brightness of the XD-05 has been a bit of a sore spot for me, and I'm reluctant to spend more money on the amp unless this is something that improves with this kind of swap.

I'll only be able to report my findings after I receive the opamp. If the guys who have made the swap have yet to comment on that until then. I'll probably give a review after. I do agree that right now with the current opamp it seems to be cold, however I do like the detail.

Compared to the original opamp, I find the sound with V5i warmer, more musical and less fatiguing (the highs are not that bright), the sound stage wider and more airy with over all more organic feeling

I found with the burson more definition. Every time that i listen this amplifier i'm surprised. Like a told,always remember that is a combo for less 200€ or dollars, so in this range price is very good

Holypal, how did the opsmp comparison go with the muse chips compared to the burson. Which one would you describe as most valve, airy liquid like?

Hi,

I prefer Burson V5i than muses02 and the stock opa1612. Burson is more musical and has better soundstage. The bass quality is also better than muses02.
Treble: V5i=muses02=>opa1612.  opa1612 is a little bit more sibilant.
Mid(or vocal): V5i=muses02=>opa1612
Bass: V5i>muses02>opa1612
Soundstage: V5i=>muses02>opa1612
Separation: V5i=muses02=opa1612

I tested them with Fidelio X2, K7xx and HD6xx. And I really like the combo of Fidelio x2 + XD-05(with v5i).

hello guys.  i recently purchased  the xduoo xd-05, and the burson audio v5i . once i installed the burson i got a protect error on screen.  i was wandering if it was not pushed in all the way or something .  i put original opamp back in and it is fine.  just out of curiosity i swapper opamp 180 degrees out just to see what happened. it worked but sound was very low.  could i have gotten it dead on arrival.  any thoughts

Why use dsd256 for every dsd setting? I did not set that and in my case xd-05 automatically sets it.

I set 256 on everything because while the device will switch to the input format automatically, Foobar does not handle it as well. After a few transitions from 64 to 256 Foobar will get the driver stuck and report that "the device does not support 702,500hz" or something like that.

I'm planning to get this to be paired with a Fostex T50rp3. Pretty much everything I've read has made me come back to this amp here. Unfortunately I don't really like making blind purchases. Anyone in the Philippines who might be willing to let me try the Xduoo xd-05 for a while?

Any specific questions you had about that pairing? I have both the Xduoo and the MK3's. I have never been above low gain, the Xduoo is just super powerful. As for the sound, I don't find it overly bright, but the detail in music is just awesome.
