Interesting. Is there any review in English?

I am fan of dynamic IEM too. )) Really like R2Pro.

This is a new product, not yet in full swing in Japan. Stores just got it in stock, I had to get it despite my oath not to buy anymore IEM. I am not sure if it is R2Pro quality but few impression said the sound is very wide, which is something I still crave for from my EX-1000 days.
It apparently eliminates any 6khz peak that we all hate.

I glad I found out about this new VC DAP a couple days ago, and it is based on the new AK4490 DAC no less.  Too bad VC stop distro to the US a while ago (after SDT), so hopefully someone can do a group buy here to ease the pain :).

p.s. SaleHiFi.com has it now.

p.p.s. just bought one, impressions later.  Also, like the newer VC DACs, the Valoq will let you change the OpAmp (needs 2).  By default it comes with a pair of MUSE 8820, but MUSE 01/02 should work.  I will have to take it apart once I have it on hand since the manual doesn't mention this at all, but the photo of the back side you can clearly see an opening, which I assume this is the reason.  Too bad I only have 1x 01 and 1x 02...

Any idea how the AK4490 sounds in comparison with PCM1795?

OMG it's wonderful, as I am using it now with my CEntrance Skyn.

BTW, I just remember that I do have a pair of AD8397 from another DAC/AMP that I can use for testing, but I will be an idiot to have them replace the stock 8820.

Ok I am being an idiot, the Valoq uses the 2x MUSE8820 as preamp and 2x AD8397 as headphone amp, but from the pic there are only 2 sockets.  My theory is that the diagram is wrong on listing 2x LPF OPA and 2x HPA AD8397, and there are really just one socket for each.  Since both are dual channel, so I am ok with this, but we will see.

I am glad one more joint this growing family. Venturecraft as a company has a long history of using AKM DAC. If anyone can get it right it is them.
As I said before internationally for those who are interest salehifi.com are the only official sellers. Their price is reasonable compared to what valoq sale at Japan. I look forward to see this community grow just like the lotoo paw gold.

I actually have been a fan since their Go-DAP 4.0 days (thanks to V-Moda VAMP.)  One of the problem I have with VC is that their DAC/AMP always seems under powered, with most only having 80mW per channel at 32 ohms load.  The V-Moda VERZA was much better at 130mW (based on VC Go-DAP X), and this is why I am happy to know that the Valoq is 125mW.

As an IEM user I never had any major problem with power however I do see where you are coming from. I am looking forward to this dap, early sign of those who opamp roll the LPF is very positive.

Yes, and In think this is the first DAP that let you switch OpAmp chips without buying special boards.

Yes, I think they are focusing on IEM sources first of all and sensitive portable headphones.

Vantam (80 mW as well) could drive my Ultrasone Signature Pro without any problem.
I tried to connect Vantam to O2 amp and could not hear almost any difference between them. So yes, it depends on headphones but 125 mW is definitely better than 80 mw ))

Do you know if Vantam's op-amps will fit VALOQ?

Just another good news, the 7 hour battery life is for the case when battery is set at maximum level, maximum gain. So battery life is more than 7 hours.

Yeah, I do think that around 150mW at 32 ohms is about right for IEMs that respond well with extra energy.

I was trying to translate the Manual from Japanese and still can not understand if it has Line Output or not. I see Optical Out only combined with 3,5 mm phone out.

Do you know if the interface of VALOQ can be switched to English?
