Audeze LCD-4

It does appear the original cable is defective in some way because I did buy another XLR cable and hooked it up and it too is louder than the original so I do have to assume somehow the original has some issue...the funny thing is if i had not have decided to try a different cable i just would have continued to use the original with the volume turned up 5 or 6 clicks.....live and learn

I think Audeze is breathing a sigh of relief seeing that this thread has slowed to a snails pace. This seems indicative that we are all enjoying the 4s without further issues.

Hello,
I'm thinking that the LCD4 was subjected to a difficult launch because of a price doubled compared to the LCD-3 which brought a lot of disappointment among Audeze fans AND a negative review from Innerfidelity because of a 'lack' of trebles.

Looking at those two points, I would compare to the ABYSS same epic launch (price and Innerfidelity)  and say that the LCD4 will be a success !!

That's one fix I can put my support behind.

Can you comment on the sound difference with the 200ohm version? My original (100Ohm) version failed unexpectedly (both drivers completely dead) and sent them in for service. Audeze called this morning to let me know that they will ship out today. Just wondering what others have found with the 200ohm version.

Thanks!

I haven't actually tried the 100ohm version, but the 200 will be harder to drive and I've heard sounds slightly better.

the 200 is a beast to drive...not that you cant drive it with lessor amps but in order to take advantage of a 4K HD i strongly recommend ample power

Does it have noticeably more resolution of detail than the LCD 1080p hd?
Is it true that Audeze has an upcoming OLED prototype?
Lol. Sorry, couldn't resist.

After 2 months living with both the 200ohm and 100ohm. Bad news for the current 200ohm owners, the 200 ohm is not even close on the level of the old 100ohm model, 100ohm hits harder n deeper. clearer, less grainy, more forward n textured, fuller midrange(less 5k to 8k dip). better extended n sweeter hi s. On the soundstage presentation is the same story, the 100ohm seems to have alot better focus on the centre image while at the same time being more concise on the imaging. The 200 ohm is no Slouch, but really, I wouldnt wanna hear the 200ohm again after hearing the 100ohm.
