So they are supposed to be a neutral sounding iem?

Would you say like a better version of the Jive?

I've got all three S-model IEM from Brainwavz and am interested in hearing these. Brainwavz are always a good bet for high bang for your buck value with good sound, tough as nails build quality, and loads of accessories - not to mention the great case!

I'm getting a sort of secret new product for review from Brainwavz tomorrow. I guess these are it! I wonder what it is about these that made Brainwavz not tell me what it is they're sending me!

Well, I guess that's because it wasn't officially announced and that's why Pandora announced a new product last week but said she wasn't allowed to reveal what it was.

Guys, the S3 will be available at the end of this month and we are the first enthusiasts that will receive it to write our reviews. I guess that's why she wasn't allowed to tell us more about the "mysterious product" on the weekend.

Yeah, the rabbit is out of the hat now!! I will have these soon i think if custom people dont fall in love with this.

Looks nice to me and i hope these are as good as S5 if not, more balanced.

To be frank, i was expecting a Flagship from R series or S, but this is kind of a Subordinate. I just want Brainwavz to take it up a level with a Proper Flagship!!

Looking forward to this too!! Just not sure about what to expect.

That, or she was out of the office on the weekend.

Judging from the name designation, I'm not really keeping my expectations very high even with the Jive having already set the bar really high. The S5 was good, but the S series' cheaper models failed to impress me as much as the Jive did.

Time will tell if these are as good or not(my bets on the former judging from past S series efforts), mine are on the truck for delivery today, look forward to gettin' 'em in

Awesome. My pair is still stuck at customs (Philippine customs is a massive pain in the butt), but hey, at least we get to hear some impresisons real soon.

As always, Fed Ex shipped fast and they got here early, plus they got here in one piece

Some unboxing pics for your enjoyment, some initial sound impressions to follow sometime soon, that should never be rushed. As for build and packaging, it's most definitely up to Brainwavz usual standards for their S series, very well packaged in a glossy-ish black box with lots of nice touches like a flip out panel really showing off the S3's features. The older, non oblong case is included (I kinda prefer it as it fits better in my pocket), with some Comply tips and their usual assortment of included tips, from the full range of hybrid tips in both black and smoked (nice!) to a set of bi flange and a set of tri flange, folks should be happy here. I'm also loving the chrome metal housings, classy

So far so good, enjoy the pics!

Oh, so the housings are a chrome/reflective finish? Interesting touch. From the renders I expected an anodized finish. Ehh, they'd look equally stunning either way.

As for impressions, got any straight out of the box? Just curious.

Yep, they look more chrome than anodized to me, guess that's where the "Silver Bullet" tag comes from

As for the initial sound, just ran through a small set of genres, around 10 songs total, flac and stock tips....and I like the soundstage, pretty wide and airy, instrument are very well seperated. As a dynamic, that's what I look for. Good, strong bass, pretty thick and layered but not muddled(ZZ Top's Well Dressed Man really blew me away!!). Mids are forward enough(Radiohead's Creep was really well done), but the highs are really strong, probably the strongest part of the sig so far, but thankfully not sibilant (Not burned in yet, folks, all of this WILL change...). A bit of a V shape on these, but not so much so to be a determent. So far so good, I like the sound signature they chose for these, right up my alley for sure. So far the only "issue", and they do say it on the tin, is that the remote does zilch(no volume, track switching, nothing) on my Note 4 Android phone...can't have everything I guess. I don't know yet if the nice mic on this works, will say so later on.
