My PK1 was modded at my local shop. Same cable, just changed the jack to Ranko 2.5mm TRRS.

And for one who curious. The TRRS is as same as the AK. At least that is what the man who modded my earbuds told me.

Just applied my Onkyo DPA-GL033 tempered glass screen (though it could be Onkyo sponsored, company is O&P Innovations by Deff Corporation).

Unfortunately I got startled by my sister, so had to readjust few times over.

Bottom right-hand corner is the only blemish i have :'(

No matter, the Onkyo DPA-PUX1 leather case that I'll get later this month will hide it :D

You are lucky to know such a good fellow cable maker dude ^^

Peter of Double Helix Cables is reterminating my Elite Molecule cable into 2.5 mm TRRS Eidolic connector, with a 2.5 mm TRRS to 3.5 mm TRS Ultrashort adapter, all for my Audeze EL8 closed back.
However Audeze has not got back to me about my EL8 l's, which are broke...

And yeah guy's, it's been on the thread for a while; balanced output is same configuration as Astell and Kern 2.5 mm TRRS.

Let's just stop staring at specs....and listen with our ears :wink:. I prefer balanced vs non-balanced any time. Regardless of gears.

Haha, I had to readjust a few times as well, the screen protector just adhered itself to the screen as I was trying to align it (the tape I was using to align it lost suction)
I had to pry it off real gently, while praying it would not suddenly crack.
 
I got it aligned perfectly in the end tho, without any blemishes, so I'm a happy man

I just wonder if there is any implication on the amps if too low Ohm´s are used

From my experience with 8 ohm SE846 and Pandora Hope VI... low ohm means you need to have a low output impedance otherwise you'll get some hiss and performance loss. DP-X1 is 1ohm SE I think and 2 ohms balanced. The general rule is to get output impedance 1/8th of the phone impedance, so I think it's safe to say 8 ohm in SE and 16 ohm balanced is safe. 16 and 32 are conservative value IMHO.

Impress Watch conducted a very detail interview with several of the key persons responsible for the "audiophile grade SD card" project - one person was no other than one which headed the ZX walkmans.  When one of them talked about how he did sighted test of SD cards painted with different colours and got his test subjects to hear difference (never mind this is already a well known placebo phenomenon) he was convinced that SD cards will make a sonic difference.  This interview single-handedly destroy all my trust in Sony digital audio engineers in one swift blow.  The only Sony person I still have respect for is the sound guy responsible for designing and tuning their headphones and CIEM brand Just Ears.

The manual also states: "Do not connect headphones that have an impedance outside the rated range as this may result in damage."
I feel this is just a disclaimer to kind of *protect* Onkyo/Pioneer from possible claims from damages arising from some foolish user turning the volume all the way up a set of low impedance headphones.

I will definitely stick to Onkyo´s manual and not use balanced/unbalanced sockets outside their resistance limitations.

This is exactly it ! Typically speaking , amplifier gotta be at the least twice as powerful as the speakers they are driving, and the same applied here on portable gears. However, if you crank it all the way up...yeah you fried the voice coil.....why would you want that is beyond me. Because being right on your ears or inside it, you can tell if it is too loud...unlike loud speaker in a stadium setup. However....could one accidentally crank the knob up when the player is in the pocket ? Lol

Lol, you can try driving a pair of LCD-X in SE and not Balanced mode. Yeah I would say it sound best that way !....I am joking, it is not that simple.

I just connect any headphones and IEMs I like to anything. And if it sounds good, I just listen.

Feel free to use/misuse any gadget you paid for, just don´t blame the manufacturer if its broken!
