Yes please share the file with us.

Besides, we think starting playing after skipping to the next/forward track is very common and most of the players do so. What do other friends think?

Thanks.

Sounds good @Shanling. I'll drop the files in Dropbox and send you a link.

The suggestion to keep music paused after skipping tracks may be more of a specialist need, as I do a lot of skipping bad and forth to queue up songs while comparing different DAPs. If they start playing every time I skip, it makes this process harder. I realize this might be an edge case, so hearing from others would be great.

Take advantage of this people, not every DAP maker asks their customers (and potential customers) what features they'd like to see implemented!

It might be good as an togglable option. Personally I think when you have one of those "Oh god, this song again" moments, it could be a little annoying if the player pauses when you stab the next track button.

Hold up @Mr Trev, what I'm talking about here is the following situation: I pause the music and then click the control pad to either skip back or forward. Since I intentionally paused the music, my preference is that the music remain paused after the skip back or forward. Right now, the M2 comes out of pause mode and starts playing after the skip back or forward. Since I intentionally paused it, I'd prefer that it remain paused. That's what I'm talking about.

If music was playing and I performed the skip operation, I'd most certainly expect the music to keep playing, which is also the current behavior.

I hope I explained that clearly, as I see these as two different scenarios. The Cayin N5 also starts playing after I pause playback and skip back / forward. Fiio changed this behavior after I (and probably others) brought it to their attention. If you used their early firmware, their DAPs did the same thing as the Cayin and Shanling DAPs do. Now, they remain paused after skipping, which I think is a more consistent behavior. Just my two cents...

OK. I was confused (still recovering from the damn time switch). The scenario you pointed out where it stays paused would be my vote - if the user initiates the pause, then it should stay that way until unpaused by the user.

Thanks for re-reading and providing your thoughts. I'm glad Fiio switched to this behavior after I filed a ticket on their Bugzilla back on the day. You remember those days, Trev?

I was looking at a posting on Amazon for the M2. Apparently it comes with 2 benks and a buggy bag:blink: . Any idea what they are supposed to be?

The "buggy bag" is probably the velvet drawstring storage pouch. The "benks" are probably screen protectors, since that's the only thing that there are two of in the box.

Thanks for the heads-up, btw. I contacted Shenzhen Audio to clarify things and see if they can get those poor / odd translations fixed.

Do you think Shenzhen's price on Amazon is the lowest we'll see for this DAP?

I also seen it listed on Penon for $239 I believe.

They describe the screen as "insolent and colourful"

Much better prices than the 1 listing I seen on AE. Woulda been cheaper for me to get a M3 off amazon.ca

I'm running a bit behind on my review. Have notes and just processed the pics tonight, so it shouldn't be too long now. I'll tell you right now that this is my recommendation for a DAP in this price category due to sound & HW + FW UI, though. Loving it and will be sad to send it out on tour :frowning2:

Yes indeed. Please don't forget to make sound comparison against other daps (big brother M3, N5, X7, etc) :D
