Ditto.

Unfortunately the deep sleep mode (still) doesn't work with a charger attached. And in this configuration the resume function (still) doesn't work reliably either.

@Joe Bloggs can we possibly request continuous playback through OTG? OTG currently only allows you to play one song at a time, it will not carry onto the next song unless you manually press play each time. its VERY annoying, and i'd love to have the music continuously play while i'm driving. i know its a subtle thing, and many may find it trivial, but its very important to me, and i know of at least 2 other people on this forum. good work with the firmware though, and i'd like to see some attention paid to this ONE nagging feature (or lack of).

would this require making the OTG part of the database and having to scan it manually? or can it just be fed a script that plays whatever files are on the drive? i'm not too familiar with the programming aspect of this. which is why i come to you with my problems  haha have a great day!

For me too. Please sort this out. OTG continuous playback worked as expected in FW 1.0. How hard can it be?

Sorry guys. It's meant to play the next song automatically on OTG as well. It may be an issue with specific OTG devices used. :xf_eek: We're looking into it.

thanks @Joe Bloggs i wanted to use the OTG feature this weekend with two different devices (a corsair x2 128 gb flash drive over a startech OTG cable & a leef microsd reader with a pny 128gb microsdxc card). they both work with the x5ii, but they dont continuously play. i figured id mention the hardware im using in this post so you could perhaps try to recreate the issue. plus you could look up what controllers they use (if they do).

also, could you look into adding a "disc" category? i recently got all the smashing pumpkins reissues, and they regularly consist of 4+ discs. this messes up the way they display on the screen. for instance, rather than the typical mellon collie track listing (i.e. mellon collie and the infinite sadness, tonight tonight, to forgive, etc..) the order goes (track1disc1, track1disc2, track1disc3, etc) and theres no way to change the order, so i cant just listen to MCIS all the way through if i want. this is the same for any album that spans more than one disc...

@Joe Bloggs, my feedback on fw1.1:

1) One aspect of all your players that I am surprised still isn't rectified is the ability to quick scroll through letters in the Play By Category submenus. It is so bad that I refuse to update my media library because I will never end up using the Play By Category menu anyway. I have over 13000 songs across 2 SD cards, so navigating to an Album, Artist or Song is virtually impossible without scrolling for minutes at a time. Most reviews of your players to date have pointed this out as a negative and rectification of this would really fix up the most negative usability aspect of your players to date in my opinion. Can you confirm whether there a plan to rectify this?

2) Having convinced my brother-in-law to purchase the X3 2nd Gen which came with fw1.1, I noticed the firmware was zippy and responsive. I bought the X5 2nd Gen on the assumption the user experience would be even more fluid considering the X5 2nd Gen is considered a higher end device. From what I've experienced to date, the X5 2nd Gen suffers from the same lag as the original X5.

3) Compared to fw1.0, I feel the sound is a bit more muffled and treble is less present in fw1.1, even more so when compared to the original X5 fw2.5.

I absolutely agree, and hope FiiO will address these feature requests as soon as possible.
Considering that they are currently pushing the X7, I wouldn't be surprised if this took a few months. maybe beginning of January.

it would be great though to get some feedback what their developers are currently working on.
I'd love to see a better playlistmanagement in the X players.

More feedback on fw1.1 @Joe Bloggs...

I did a reset of my player and immediately noticed the firmware speed and wheel responsiveness was back to what it was out of the box...fast. I continued to do a toggle of every single setting and played some music until I noticed 2 things that resulted in a slow down:

1) As long as the Equalizer setting is "OFF", firmware speed remains impressive. As soon as any other Equalizer setting is chosen however, the entire firmware slows down, including wheel responsiveness. Switch back to "OFF" and the software is snappy and responsive again.
2) Any currently playing track with artwork. Even if you press back and exit the Currently Playing screen, the rest of the navigation slows down. Once another track is selected without artwork, the player remains slow, however pressing the power button to lock the device followed by another press to turn the screen back on results in snappy speed again. I think the locking of the device must clear the cache from the prior artwork or something.

No idea if the above is well known as the 2 common causes of slowdowns with Fiio players. Not even playing high quality tracks seems to cause slowness even though I thought it would. I can live without artwork but I am disappointed I can't use the Equalizer. I'm sure the audio purists would be thinking "why would you"

THIS!!!

Seriously, please "fix" (implement) this. This one feature is the only thing I miss having left my iPod. I'm in the same situation as Joe... I use two 128GB SD cards and scrolling is painful.

Thank you for considering.

Joe,

RE the OTG device: I am using the card reader that came with the X5 on the X5mkII.

Like others have been saying.  it does not advance to the next song.

Here are some things I noticed with mine which are problematic:
1) when I use the X5II as a DAC and then unplug it, sometime it is not able to play songs any more (until I reset it).
2) when I play a m3u playlist, sometimes the X5II stops playing at the end of a song, without starting the next one. It was already an issue with the X5 1st gen and the X5II FW1.0 too. I see that it has not been corrected yet.
