Got an M2s. Loved it out of the box. Unfortunately I have to return it since the volume wheel fell off.
Terrible for a device in this price range.

Well I have had the M2s for a few weeks now.
Compared to AK380, AK320, Fiio X7, Sony ZX2 and Cayin N6.
The UI is not good, some things ridiculous such as not keeping additional folders in alphabetical order.
Some items annoying such as not stopping playing when reaching the end of an album and likewise the lack of ability in deleting folders on the fly and the fact you have to format the micros card in a specific format.
So I can see it has limited appeal compared to most other DAPs.
However sound wise and in particular without an external amp I do feel the only other DAPs that give it a run for its money are the AK380 and surprisingly the N6 (an underrated DAP in my opinion).
With my Laylas and playing mainly FLAC files and some HD files it does sound very very good. It has power and punch and is very dynamic.
It is impressive.
To be fair I have found the build quality to be fine.
So I have warmed to this player but c'mon improve the UI.
Aune M2 firmware update 1.30 is out only in chinese site: http://cn.auneaudio.com/index.php?s=/Home/Article/gjxzhz.html
there are 3 versions 1.30 base, pure1 and pure 2
version 1.30 base should resolve tags problems (from version 1.22) and is added new CPLD algorithm
pure1 is enhanced for vocals but is compatible with WAV, DFF, ISO, not supported APE, FLAC,MP3 (not tested by me)
pure2 is compatible only for WAV, not supported APE, FLAC,MP3, DFF,ISO (not tested by me)
Noob question.. how to update the firmware? I go to settings and choose system update, processing.. but it never change from my current firmware ( 1.22 ). Do I need special condition/requirement other than put that update rar in my microsd?
Yea, just make sure the DAT. file I think it is is in the root folder, go to settings and update like you mention and you should be good to go. The whole process shouldn't take very long at all and since you are coming from 1.10 you should notice a slight change in audio. Certainly more compatibility
