M2 delivered today, took 9 days from ordering on Amazon uk,no custom charge as seller sent as gift, have been listening most of day,SQ is lovely, plenty of power, very articulate, airy and spacious, loads of detail, listening now ,hooked up to my Brio amp, this dac is superb, as good as mojo using line out, saved money on getting the pro to buy an Aune B1 off ebay,so got both for the price of the pro, onto ui,no problems there very simple, easy to operate and quick, the volume wheel on the side is excellent, player is small enough to operate everything one handed.
What could make this player better?
Album art is a must, the player doesnt play quite a few of my albums, just skips through the songs,so hopefully they can work on this.Doesnt need digital out as dac is superb!Build is excellent,so just looking forward to how Aune are going to improve this fabulous sounding dap.

Hey cattlethief: Is the M2 skipping long AAC or ALAC songs? That's a known bug I thought was fixed but found out it wasn't after I wrote my review. I had some other AAC and ALAC issues with early firmware, but I think everything has been resolved except skipping long AAC and ALAC songs. A new FW is going to be released after Aune returns from CES. If that doesn't fix the issue, I'll revisit my review.

If this is your issue (especially with ALAC), transcoding to FLAC should fix it. If this isn't your issue, tell us what's going on.

Glad you also find the GUI simple and fast. I appreciate its simplicity!

I vote no for Album Art, but I think I'm in the monitory

This is the type of files the player wont recognise, any ideas why?

Have tried shortening the name, still the same.It reads bigger files. Some of my files arent read at all,it just says "no file".
My ihifi 960 plays all of these files no problem and I thought  that could be choosy!

I think the ui needs a lot of work,at least a 1/4 of my music skips/wont play!
I hope Aune are reading this and are working hard to improve the software.

@cattlethief, @Jerome Dussart: I'm pretty sure your issues are FW related and should improve once Aune drops the new FW in the very near future. FLAC + CUE play just fine for me. 24/96 and 24/192 files work jus fine for me, as well. I'm running a newer beta FW, though. I wish I could share, but I tried that with Mim and it didn't work out so well. Just wait a bit and your issues should be resolved. Wish Aune had delayed release until the FW was more stable. Seems a pattern with companies releasing their first DAP...

Some players like to have a single flac come with separate cue sheet. I know for paw it had problem reading separate flac files.

This player looks more attractive everyday. The more I use double stack setup the less patience I have for them. This player appears to pay great attention to the amp section.

Looking forward to mim impressions.
