Eq not necessary

Right? Or...

Let the debate begin!  Hopefully not though...

If you need eq then the headphone /iem is not your type or even the source , change both and enjoy :sunglasses:

Guess it started.

Even though I do not fall into this situation, I agree and empathize with this member's post with regards to lack of EQ:  http://www.head-fi.org/t/751140/questyle-qp1/330#post_11631623.

For me it comes down to cash outlay for a new format. New lenses, filters, bags and adaptors. Hard to let go 25 years glass and familiarity with Canon. Also, Head Fi has seriously put a dent in my camera gear acquisitions lately.

Yes, I wasn't too deep into DSLR land so it was easy for me to make the switch!

Yes true if you have hearing loss :confounded:...but I don't think it's necessary :relieved: imo.

Hearing deficiencies or other valid points like the post elaborates.  With that said, it's great that we have choices and to have choices.  Not having EQ in a DAP is a step backwards, in my opinion (my old iRiver Clix 2 and Creative Zen had EQ) and will for certain affect more users not having EQ built into the DAP than if it was an option to simply keep off - so the EQ option could cater to every DAP user.  You need EQ, great, if not, great.  The option is there.  But to not have the option entirely and have to resort to changing the source or headphones just to accommodate the DAP itself (especially for those who purchase multiple different-signature-type of earphones/headphones), in my opinion, is simply ridiculous.

Hi guys! I know that a lot of you has experience with the MP4 nation velour pads so i want to make a question:

I bough them to replace my Denon D2000 pads since the original ones are in a real bad shape but the sound although apparently more detailed also became a lot sibilant and ear-piecing, something it wasn't before. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Me don't EQ too.....Me feel that the song/album is recorded /mixed/mastered as intended.....and that's the sound you get....it's all about the source and IEM or headphone....my 2c

I usually don't EQ either, but it's great to have it there when wanted and in some listeners cases, needed.

Only headphone I have had to EQ was the sound magic HP150. I had to use max treble reduce (-10 on the Fiio E17) to make it comfortable to listen. I was never that sensitive to treble and I better tolerated the MDR Ex1000 which has very energetic treble but this is just too much for me.
