Noble 3 IEM

I've just tried the largest of the grey tips with the red interior.

Putting them on the iem is a breeze, and they are certainly easier to use than compressing/inserting the Comply tip and replacing them every few weeks. I think they sound as good as the Comply tips. I was a little leery at first since the seal doesn't feel as good (thin rubber vs compressed foam)... but after some playing around, I don't think I lose any audio quality or low bass - which was my fear.

Thanks

A lot more comfortable too. I find the soundstage is better when I'm not squashing them in so far.

Try the large double-flange. For me, they sound better and are more comfortable

If you get the blue tips on properly, they sound fantastic! Listening to the Stooges' excellent "Funhouse" lp... The 3's love it!

I spent a week with the blue tips, and although I didn't notice a loss in sound quality, even the largest size seemed to want to slip out of my ears. The rubber is just so smooth, it becomes slippery very easily.

So, I'm back to using the Comply T-500 foam tips ($15 for 3 pair), they are really hands down the best option for me. They are a little difficult to get on, but I've found if I stretch out the interior lining a bit with the tip of a pen that I can get them on fairly easily, and once they are on they are secure.

Anyway, thought I'd mention it in case someone wants to give them a shot or if they don't like any of the tips that come with the iems.

Not sure if this thread is still active or not, but I went ahead and ordered the Noble 3Us, hopefully I will be able to offer more insight with respect to their performance

Glad to see some people still here!
Just got these today....I am amazed. I will have to wait a few days before posting my impressions, gotta re-explore my music :)

Short overview (and comparison to RHA T10)

Build: Noble = 4.5/5, T10 = 5/5
Steel vs. Plastic, that is the only reason the T10s get the upper hand. I do prefer the detachable cables though, but I wouldn't be surprised if RHA cables lasted 5+ years. In terms of the shells, 3Us feel quite a bit less sbustantial in the hand (ONLY due to the weight difference), but it is easy to tell they are crafted excellently. No worries there!

Comfort: Noble = 4.5/5, T10 = 4/5
The 3Us are much lighter, and I have worn them so far for 2 hours without any discomfort. They don't feel like they will budge. T10s have terrific comfort and design, but the ear guides to me seem a bit too loose compared to the 3Us, and I find myself readjusting them constantly.

Isolation: Noble = 4/5, T10 = 3.5/5
Isolation for nobles depends greatly on the tips. So far my preferred listening tips are the stock M double flanges, but for best isolation the foamies are unmatched (comparable to shures, perhaps better?) T10s I use with double flanges, which are reasonably comfortable but don't isolate as well. Still very good though.

Sound: Noble = 4.5/5, T10 = 4/5
Noble's bring out the musical detail of the songs. RHA doesn't, but rather turns the song into a fun, warm sounding piece. Noble's provide more detail without sounding dull (far from it). The RHAs got a bit fatiguing with their energetic sound sig, while the Noble's are a bit more laid-back, yet can get very involving depending on the song. Additionally, the 3U's soundstage sounds much more 3D, while RHA's sounds a bit wider.

I will eventually get the FiiO X1 since these tests were done out of macbook pro. MrNick's impressions were pretty much spot on!

Hi, I am thinking of buying this Noble Audio 3U (300eur). I currently have a Phonak Audeo 022 (was 100eur) and I was myself decided on the RHA MA750 (also 100eur) when I tried the B&W P5 (which are on-ear and cost 300eur) and I was so delighted with them that now I am not sure if the RHA MA750 will be enough.

I read this thread entirely and the two reviews posted in the product page here in head-fi, but I still can't make up my mind. If any one that has the Noble 3 and also used previous similar models and wants to give me a tip that would be greatly appreciated.

Luckily, the review from "WhatToChoose" includes a comparison with the RHA T10 but I don't get the idea that the Noble 3 are that much better than the T10, being 3x the cost. So I am a bit puzzled here.

btw, it's been 10 years since I last posted in this website. Thanks for keeping my profile alive :)

Hello there

Perhaps I made a typo, but the Noble3Us aren't quite 3x the cost (RHA is $180-200, Noble 3U is $350, so about 1.5x the price). To clarify, I can tell you that the Noble's are significantly clearer than the RHA T10s, have less emphasized bass, isolate better, have more sparkly highs (probably what contributes to the superior clarity), and (for me personally) fit much better. The T10s only trump the 3Us in build quality cause they are beastly stainless steel IEMs, and their bass is big for some songs if you like that. The detachable cables of the 3Us make it better for longevity, in my opinion.

I don't have any other other models you listed there for comparison, but my best answer would be that it depends on your music preferences. Some people like the metallic closed sounding yet insanely detailed ER4S IEMs, while others like less detail in exchange for a more engaging and organic musical experience. Hopefully other people will be able to chime in with their opinion as well!

Also, welcome back :)

Thank you for your review. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd do one myself. I have a Noble 3u and a 4u and they are easily the best I have on any source. I also have: RHA 750i - a very good headphone but the mic creates a big weak point and the rubber wires are heavy and stick to everything. You have to play them a few notches louder from a phone etc. I'd love to sell them because they are redundant. I also have an OM Audio"inearpeace" which I thought was better than the 750i and the Phillips fidelity s2 which was better than the 750i if you could deal with the heavy chord, get a proper seal and added an amp. Once again these sets are redundant because of the Noble 3u. The only problem I have with the Noble 3 is the wires are so light that you forget they are there and get them snagged on something but this problem is solved by stealing a hairpin from my girlfriend and attaching it to my shirt etc.
