Beta firmware version 1.21beta for the X1 is now available!

The following changes and improvements were made to firmware 1.21 compared to 1.20:
1. Enabled modification of all EQ presets.
2. Fixed issue where shuffle mode reverted to the same set of "random" songs if starting from the same song.
3. Fixed issue where tracks not supported by the player were skipped immediately without a prompt.
4. Fixed issue where tracks of sample rate 352kHz caused the player to hang ("format not supported" will be displayed instead)
5. Fixed issue where the player sometimes hung in File Browsing.
Known issue:
The player will hang if the Shortcuts key is pressed while adjusting a named EQ preset other than Custom (this is supposed to bring up the dialog box to reset the preset, but has not been implemented correctly yet.
Please note the following:
1. This is a development beta. Please consider carefully whether you want to upgrade to it. (You can always downgrade back to any previous version)
2. Problems encountered with this firmware may be posted to this thread--please keep the main X1 thread free from clutter regarding bugs on beta firmware.
3. To avoid public misunderstanding, please refrain from posting about bugs and problems with the beta firmware outside this beta firmware discussion thread.
Looking forward to everyone's feedback.
Some info on M3U playlists:
1. M3U playlists stored on the SD cards are accessed via Browse Files, not Browse by Category->Playlists.
2. Each entry of the M3U playlist should not reference a drive letter (relative paths).
Here are the recommended methods for creating playlists on the computer:
Method for adapting existing playlists for the X1
The X1 can read playlists with relative pathing and thus is compatible with most existing playlists that do not reference the drive letter at the beginning of each track reference.
Method for creating playlists for the X1 in foobar2000
New playlists compatible with the X1 may be created using foobar and a text editor as follows:
1. Connect the SD card for the X1 to the computer (e.g. by connecting the X1 itself with the SD card inside in Storage USB mode)
2. Load the songs desired from the SD card into a new playlist and save the playlist as a M3U8 file in the root directory of the SD card.

Method for creating playlists for the X1 in iTunes
If using a windows PC for playlist creation, foobar2000 is recommended over iTunes. If using iTunes on the Mac, the custom playlist export program created by fellow X1 user, JeremyLaurenson, is recommended:
