Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and Wireless!
Aug 1, 2016 at 12:29 PM Post #3,106 of 3,671
I have one question: Why does the sound quality drops so much when i use teamspeak? Can i fix it somehow? Or should i buy external mic? When i connect it by cable, microphone is not working.

I dont think it has anything to do with the headphones, as the same thing happens with my sony mdr-1abt. No idea how to fix it, but when using a wireless headset with supplied bluetooth dongle it works flawlessly. So probably something to do with the pc/mac bluetooth settings/software..

So, I searched but didn't find anything concrete.

Do noise cancelling works wired?
Can noise cancelling be activated or deactivated while wired or non-wired, both options?

and...

should wait for momentum 3? lol

Do you guys think a momentum 3 will be out in a near future?

Also a question i did on the original momentums thread....

Did any of you prefered thw original momentum over ear to the 2.0? If yes what do you think it made it more special?

I like the added punch for edm on the 2.0s bit i think vocals were better on the 1.0 and also there seemed to be a higher sense of resolution.

Since the bluetooth issue delayed the release of the wireless momentums in some countries, and it hasn't been available in stores there for that long, there's more money in it for Sennheiser to wait.
I dont think a new Momentum is on the menu in the near future. Sure will be exciting when it is tho.

Check out the PXC-550
Better NC with all the options you wanted, but SQ might be slightly below Momentum 2

Don't want others, just to know if they can do that or if the noise cancelling is a permanent adjustment.

bt = on always
cable = off always

and that can't be changed or if you can choose on or off with bt and cable.

I tried them and I liked even if the noise cancelling was not even close to the bose 25/35, good thing for some people because the bose ones at least for me, they made me feel like a pressure sensation inside the ears when nc is on, also M2  were much better in sound quality.

I mostly ask because I would like to be able to have the noise cancelling turned on when using cable on the laptop so I can use a dragonfly and avoid the cheap bluetooth dac from the headphones and at the same time get a noise cancelling feature on a crowded place

I've got a issue with my Wireless Momentums. While walking downhill or on the bus/car on a bumpy/bad road the noise cancelling gives off this rumble/low frequency noise. Anyone with the same problem? This is starting to be a real dealbreaker..

A youtube reviewer mentioned something about it, but said it was only a minor issue.

Im not sure about going back to the store as the guy would have to hop up and down to demonstrate the issue. And even if i got him to hop up and down he probably wouldn't believe that this happens when not jumping like a maniac.

Not sure why you won't consider when some mentioned the PXC-550 sounds similar to the Momentum, but an upgrade in every other way including the ability to off ANC with/without cable/bt and also able to adjust the ANC from off to 50% to 100%

 I'm pretty sure monsterquake answered your question: "Don't want others". He wasn't ever asking if there was a better headphone out there, he was simply wanting to know if ANC could be turned on/off w/wout cable.

  Whenever the power circuit is on, ANC is also on. If you are using them wireless (because you have to have power on), ANC is always on. If you plug in the cable, you can have ANC either on or off. Just turn power on, and you have ANC. The headphones are smart enough to know when you have the cable plugged into the headphone cup, and will keep ANC on, but disable BT. If you turn power off (with the cable plugged in) it is in passive mode, and needs no power from the headphones (just like regular headphones at this point), so ANC is off.

  There is also another mode you can use (which offers the best sound quality IMO). If you plug your USB cable from the headphone to your pc, you can charge them while listening at the same time (sound coming over USB). You just need to make sure that your BT on PC is off, because it will take precedence over USB. In this mode, ANC is also on.

I've been offered a new pair of M2 rev2 for 300€ while PXC are 390€ the cheapest. So, that's why I was looking for M2, at that price, bang for buck on M2 it's awesome I think.

Brilliant! Thank you very much for the answer, I am going to buy them right now. I don't know why not even sennheiser have this info on the manual, but should be a sticky.

  Then, congrats on owning your new M2's. They are indeed awesome headphones, and if you can get them that cheap, you are getting a hell-uv-a deal.

Has anyone had issue with Windows 10 picking these up properly? The driver installs fine, but the mic doesn't seem to pick up my voice at all. I made sure my recording device is set to the Momentum. I get about 1 green bar from the recording level when I look at it in my Recording Devices (only if I speak loudly), but I can't hear myself when I check "Listen to this device." I made sure the Momentum is set as my playback device. Any ideas?

  This is not a shortcoming of the headphones. You will have this same issue with any BT headphone. It is a shortcoming of Windows.  Android handles this much better. I think the BT stack in windows has been less than stellar since Windows 7 (not inclusive).
