I must of missed any mention of the 5800 track limit also being fixed on 2.36. I was pleasantly surprised to see it fixed. I think I am going to be happy with 2.36. I was very happy with 2.0 but hey, this looks to be a huge step forward. Thank you Fiio!

Easter egg! LOL

Yes, we already fixed it in the previous beta version firmware which was not released.

Glad to see folder jump has been added to X5, now please also add this option to X3 / X1.

By the way and sorry to "kidnap" this threat, why do you only publish betas for X5 and X3? What's the problem with X1?

The firmware for the X1 is scheduled to be released after the X3 and X5. So pls don't worry and just wait for it patienly.

Hello everyone. After the upgrade to 2.34 and then 2.36 DSD files are played badly. Music brakes and stutters. 2.20 had no such problems. Thank you.

X5 doesn't play DSD natively anyway - it converts to PCM.  So why not just do the conversion yourself and then reload as FLAC.  It'll save you space, there will be no difference in quality, and because it's not having to process mega -sized files, it should help any 'stuttering'

Just an option .....

I think I spotted a bug.  Periodically, when selecting an album to play in Library mode, the wrong album by the same artist will come up.

For example, this morning I wanted to play Sheik Yerbouti by Frank Zappa.  When I clicked on the album directory (again, in library mode), I was taken to Waka-Jawaka.  Same artist, wrong album.  This has happened a few times now with different artists.

This was easily recticfied by backing out of the album folder and going back in, but I just wanted to bring it to someone's attention.

Forgive my ignorance on this (as a first timer for a modded theme), but I have two questions:

Do I have to install this (very nice looking) theme the same way as every other FW?
The FiiO 2.36b FW file is 37.286 kb. This ''Modern Simplicity'' FW file is only 19.347 kb. Although it's much smaller, does it still deliver all the same possibilities as the ''standard'' one?

Thanks in advance...

The functionality is exactly the same. The smaller file size will largely be due to the exclusion of Chinese fonts.
