@Nimdjid : Amazon.fr is having a flash sale on this card, it should cost you way less if you took it there (69.90€+shipping).

Hi. I am new here and in Hires at all.
Does anyone tried the x3 2nd with Bose QietComfort 20 IEMs?
Does it make sense at all to use these IEMs with the DAP? I travel a lot and really love the noise cancelation of the Bose IEMs...
Can you recommend an IEM up to 100-150 Euro or Dollar to use with the X3 2nd?
Chridder

Ps. Thanks to all of you in this thread. Your Information helped me to decide for the X3 2nd.

I have never used those IEM so I won't be able to help you, the best thing would be to wait for the X3 and see if the sound is to your liking.
Otherwise at this price range the Dunu Titan and the Zero Audio Duoza are getting a lot of good feedback around here.

I'm trying to do the Fiio X3 Gen 1 owner's deal but am getting a message that says from Ali Express: "We are sorry, but due to legal restrictions, AliExpress is unable to provide escrow services to residents located in Washington State." Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks Ty.  I'm not an expert - just an enthusiast like the others in the Community.  I'm just lucky enough to try a little more gear than most
wink.gif
.

I haven;'t heard either of the two headphones - but quickly looked up their specs, and the X3ii will have no problems driving either one - so need for additional amping.  At this stage all you'll need is a micro SD card.  That Sandisk one is a good one.  I use the same card in my X5.

When you get both the X3ii and the MicroSD - best advice is to format the card using the X3ii's format utility - it seems to avoid a lot of problems later.

If you know roughly how many albums you're going to have on board, we can give you advice on setting up folders etc for quick navigation.

Welcome to the forums and the X3ii - you're going to love it!

Thank you for your help m8.

By formatting the card with their own format utility you mean simply letting the DAC handle the format? Or do you do it through a PC with downloaded software?
I will start of with about 15-20 albums of FLAC music. However Im looking around for places to purchase HD music.. Maybe the best way is to go buy a CD in a store and then rip it yourself? Or is that not really HD quality? Im a bit unsure of this as I know only that MP3 is bad and FLAC is good :)

I'll take some advice on this.   I have all my stuff sorted on an external hdd by category (rock, pop, r&b, etc.) and then then by album inside that.

Am Press Photographer, and my cameras use these similar cards. One days when am on a shooting session, in low light, I was be surprised to hear music comming out my Nikon when i pressing the shutter...
So, the lesson here is dont mix cards, use the right card in the right gear! Unfortunately, my FiiO can't take picture.. at this time!

:D

Can't wait to get my hands on it so I called up treoo today to query about my pre-order status. They said they only have enough stock for those pre-ordered before 18 mar. Very disappointing as it means we have to wait some time before FIIO start 2nd round shipping to Singapore after they done with all other countries (a big world tour I guess) . End of day It would be the same as my last pre-order X3 first gen. I'm getting it the same time as those that didn't pre-ordered. I'm feeling a bit cheated each time with this pre-order. Next time just call it a register of interest if you have not enough stock to go around.

Some info on the order process for the discounted X3 2nd gens at Aliexpress.
Guys,

be careful! I just tried to order the X3 via the discount process described above and from the looks of it I bought it for $260!

I followed the the steps above and send out the proof of purchase which for some reason did not include the picture of the proof. FiiO send me a message stating that and I answered them and this time the picture went through. I then received the following message:

hello C.

(link to the X3 product)

please kindly make order, after we check your information and we will adjust price for you

B,R

I made my order but it looks like the price was not changed. I am not sure how this process should work and how I know the price was changed so maybe the FiiO guys can give a bit more information.

But as I said, I think I paid $260 for that thing...

Hope this helps.

Hi, sorry that my first post here is a moan, but I ordered the X3 just after midnight (GMT) with all my serial numbers etc. and I still haven't had any kind of confirmation that I can pay the reduced price. I've sent messages, I've emailed, but nobody has got back in touch with me. The item is still showing in my orders, and because I'm paying in Sterling and the exchange rate has altered, it looks like when the price is revised I'll end up paying slightly more as well.

Is there anybody here who can look into this for me please? Just tell me who to email or message. Thanks. I'm just hoping that by the time this is sorted, the 200 aren't gone and I missed out altogether.

Hey guys,

What you need to do is fill in your order details, click "Place Order", then in the next page where you are asked to enter your VISA (etc.) info, click on the "refresh" button here

The reduced price will appear if we have finished reviewing your proof of purchase for the 1st gen X3. Then you can finish filling in your VISA info and press "Pay Now".

Do NOT hit "Pay Now" if the price has not been revised.

The formatting should be done by the Fiio x3 2nd gen. Insert the card into the x3, scroll into a few menus to find the format card option and format.

Ripping flac files from CDs is a good way to go. That will get you great quality files. HD music is a greater bit depth (typically 24) and sample rate (typically 96kHz). This can't be ripped from standard music CDs and will need to be purchased online from a store like hdtracks.com. For the most part flac files ripped from a cd will be just fine. That is another discussion though...

What are the chances of me finding someone to donate their 14-bit serial number or 20-bit security code so I can take advantage of this aliexpress discount? Slim to none? Trying to have this as my first DAP, and the price difference will make it possible.

That's what happened with me. What I found a really nice surprise was that Fiio is sending these out by FedEx (or equivalent) as standard, which saves purchasers an additional $20 or so on a quicker delivery. Really appreciated that little Easter Egg!
