Hey guys! I just got my ZX2. Few questions for yalls.

1) There seems to be some problems displaying chinese and korean songs. Any way to get that to work?

2) Also under "All Songs" the song number shows up, so the songs aren't displayed by order of title. My tags worked with my previous DX90. Any thoughts on getting the songs to be listed by title?

About 100 hours under the belt now and this is a keeper and end game. It might not be greatly better than DX90 with SR71-B but it is a one box solution that last 30-40 hours on a charge and just oozes quality

If I'm understanding correctly, in the 'all songs' view, you're seeing track number instead of name of the track itself. I've had several FLACs which had metadata with a different naming convention, all I had to do was edit it accordingly via foobar, transfer it to the ZX2 and it displays like I want it to. Don't see any issues with that.

Also to add on to the earlier part, it is Android, maybe you need to download additional language packs for Chinese, etc? I've seen some Chinese ZX2 users having no issues with Mandarin titles, not sure what they did though.

+1 here, around 40 hours for me and it just blows my expectations away already, so much better than the ZX1 and any source I ever had (the best one I had was the PHA-3). It feels like the end game although I know that this rabbit hole probably goes further I just didn't imagine that a DAP could sound this good (then again, I never dabbed into the 1K+ territory before).

I knew something was different when I just forgot about the gear and it becomes all about the music and the emotions, big smile on my face, toe tapping and feeling good oh my it's almost a drug !

Yes I do, but I should have added for IEMs.

I have had the PHA-3 for several months running it balanced with the Z5 and Z7, and it's still way better with the Z7 because the ZX2 simply doesn't have the power to drive the Z7 as well (although I should give it a second try with the volume trick of killing the Sound Adjustment app). On the other hand, the ZX2 is just much more euphonic with IEMs, micro details, depth, layering and imaging oh my I didn't even know it could get that good and subtle ! And my unit is not even to the 100 hours yet.

I am not saying the PHA-3 is not very good with IEMs, it is, but the ZX2 conveys so much more emotion I still need to wrap my head around it. Sony has made something special there, I mean it's the biggest leap in SQ I have know since going from the TF10 to the PFE232 or the PFE232 to IE800. It's not just listening attentively to what is better it's just a revelation that is so obvious that you're just taken by surprise !

I expected a ZX1 (which I have owned for 2 years) on steroids, when I auditioned it in the store I knew it was much more than that by a BIG margin.
I originally intended to go for the Pioneer xdp-100r or Onkyo DP-X1 but the audition of the ZX2 made the decision clear : it sounds amazing, it's available and price has dropped a little from launch price.

Is your ZX2 Euro version ? Anyways, I expect PHA-3 to color your music one way or another....so it should sound different than ZX2 :D

Yep it's a european version, so volume caps are lower indeed good point, not an issue with the Velvets.
I don't know if there is any measurement of the different volume tables for different versions, it definitely makes the EU version less versatile with less efficient / sensitive phones.

I don't mind a colored sound, and yes PHA-3 is but isn't the ZX2 supposed to be on the warm side ?
I don't have reference IEM or headphones anyway.

The main difference for me with ZX2 vs PHA-3 is more depth, better decay, texture and micro details overall a much more lively sound or anyway they do pair sublimely with the Velvets!

I thought so :D
Yes, Zx2 is a warm DAP
Have you tried TRRS out on ZX2 ? All those you said above can be found by TRRS.

Not yet I'll look for an upgrade cable for the Velvet in due time, I know the ZX2 supports TRRS ground for L/R but no balanced connection but didn't gather that it was that much of an improvement on SQ. Right now I find things pretty good already !

I tried trrs with my rs1. There's a definite improvement especially in sound stage and seperation. More air to it. It's also slightly smoother. But the improvement is really small and the headphones matter way more
