EarWerkz, a new CIEM company, discussion thread

I have had my Legend R for a month and a half now. Fit is perfect and I'm a bit bothered to see all you guys with fit problems.
I'm sure Earwerkz will do the best of works to adjust it. Only problem is that it might take a little while with all the projects they are currently working on.

I have decided my next CIEM will be the Penta judging by the first impressions on the prototypes. I am still looking forward for a custom with smooth and forward mids (a bit like the SE5 that I can't fit) and the Penta is turning out to be quite a candidate.

Lear doesn't have smoth mids?

It does for sure. Yet, they are not as organic and as forward as I remember them to be on the SE5.
And I'm looking for an overall warmer signature.
Which I hope the Penta will be, without being sure it will. That's why it is still a candidate

I might miss yours' picture. Does your LR have a clear faceplate? I like to see internals :)

I have a picture of my Legend R in my Supra review (in my signature and profile). Since your magenta color is a crystal color (some available colors are not), you will be able to see the internals easily.

I'm sure your Legend R will look amazing. :normal_smile :

I hope so mate :) I ask Jack to send a picture before shipping, so curious.

BTW, did anyone have a chance to make a comparison between Linum and EW quad cable on LR?

You'll be good to go very soon, my friend.

As for comparisons, yes, I have compared both Linum and EarWerkz's Pro Series Cable with regards to the Legend R.  You probably know what I'm going to say next.

With that (not said), I'm sure that others can share with you their specific experiences as well.  Which cable(s) did you wind up choosing?

The linum is terrible on all my iems... It makes the mids muffled and recessed. Soundstage became even smaller, but a slight boost in the mid bass.

The stock cable is the way to go, until I get some silver cables.

On which IEMs do you use Linum?

It seems that you will choose Quad over Linum mate

I have ordered both. I may use Linum as a replacement in future. I already have Linum.

Do you have any other aftermarket cable that you listen with LR?

You're correct my friend, I chose the Pro Series Cable over the Linum.

I have been very patient and have not purchased any other aftermarket cable for my Legend R, mainly because I will be able to audition a plethora of elemental 2-pin C/IEM cables at CanJam in a fortnight (add a few days).  If anything jumps out at me when auditioning, I'll make sure to add that to the review as well.

I used UM quad cables, linum over quad cable of UM. Does it mean EW uses different cables?

I wouldn't be surprised if its a different cable.  quad simply means its 4 strands that doesn't split at the y.  it goes 4 strands beneath the y, then 2 strands above it.  at least that's my understanding.  i would think its basic enough that more than 1 cable company does it this way.

and speaking of that review, moedawg..

  getting antsy waiting for it!

Visualy it looks same, that misled me. The best solution is listening original.

What a Wonderful World + Supra...

I kind of feel that the Supra works best with a energetic cable that enhances or tightens the base extension. The sheer expansive head space with a tight bass makes for a really amazing performance that would put most other iems at twice its price point to shame.

Note that I'm not trying to make the Supra a basshead iem. Rather, its just a slight enhancement to the sub-base regions, and an increase in clarity through the use of a silver/gold cable. Pair it up with a balanced out, and it becomes a beast.
Now, where can I get my hands on a V1 fusion 6core cable for my legend-R........
