Haha. Thanks.

Well, the thing is I'm buying a new house (moving out of my home-office, which from now on will be serve as office) as both my company and family are growing. So I have a good reason to have my favorite headphones at each of my house, since I'll be at both places.

That's good enough of excuse, oops, "reason" for me.

For which wood ..... well, I will surely post a few photos once it arrive. But people knowing me could guess the correct answer already, probably

Indeed, I think I know what kind of wood you have chosen; well within the philosophy of the brand kennerton.

Congratulation again.

Hi all.

For the new owners of the mk2 (V2) Odin (and future owners), a recommendation: be patient!

Indeed, the burn-in ("rodage" in french) of the Odin headphone is very important to gain fluidity, fineness, expressiveness, and ultimately pleasure; 50 hours of burn-in are a strict minimum to begin to perceive the qualities and potential of this headphone; 100 and even 200 hours are probably needed to fully exploit the potential of the headphone.

After, of course, the potential of the Odin will be more or less exploited depending on the amp used and the used dac (give it the best!).

You can also read this and this on the french forum HCFR about the pleasure procured by this headphone (who can make us cry with joy) and the importance of the burn-in for this headphone.

So I'm close to going for both the Odin and the Vali. I'm looking for a punchy, tonally rich, mid-range-centric, dynamic yet smooth top-end kind of headphone for rock music, and I'm hoping the Vali will fit that bill. And I'm looking for a more balanced, detailed headphone that is yet  not as thin or bright as the HD800 for the purposes of classical music listening. Hopefully the Odin will satisfy on that front too. I like the styling of both headphones, and am not too concerned about weight, as long as it's decently distributed. And I don't care that much about soundstaging. Above all I'm looking for rich, full-bodied tonality.

Now, which wood for the Odin? A happy tough decision!

You have perfectly described the sound characteristics of these two headphones!

For info.

True, mk2 Odin are not realy mk2; Odin mk2 drivers are the same as that of the excellent Odin mk1 (the first 50 production batch), but in version improved for reliability; fixed a bug of the first serial production  responsible for of a few reliability issues (failure of the driver), not found in the last series, described by default "mk2" by opposition to the first series of production  (first production 50 copy) "mk1".

EDIT (note): Odin "mk2" are identified by the serial number engraved on the left branch of the headphone metallic hoop; which is not the case of Odin "mk1" not engraved.

For example: here an Odin "mk2" engraved.

Some news after 50hours of listening.
Burn'in process is keep going on. Eric, you're true, 30-50 hours are determinant before speak about the Odin, it's really a minimum to obtain a beginning of what this headphone is able to offer in sound.
I'm very very happy, sounds is coming much more juicy, refined and dynamic. At 50hours, it's already a voice killer headphone too.

stay tuned for next step.
