My guess to Sony mdr-z7:
A coaxial driver with two transducer,
A 50mm transducer with a carbon-plated liquid-crystal polymer membrane,
A 70mm ring-shaped bass transducer with a liquid-crystal polymer membrane.
Dual balanced driving.
Unknown material in unknown back.

My guess to Sony mdr-z5:
A coaxial driver with two transducer,
A 40mm transducer with a liquid-crystal polymer membrane,
A 65mm ring-shaped bass transducer with a liquid-crystal polymer membrane.
Metal chamber in closed back.

Eh? So it's not the 65mm that Nomax predicted?

My translation of these words:

http://www.turboimagehost.com/p/19604255/sony_mdr-z7_img2_cr.jpg.html

We further explore the nature of the sound
Challenge ego, restore the spaciousness of the sound
Feel the air

Free ears from the narrow cavity of headphone
Cohere the micro sound particles, converge into huge energy
Present the sound levels from far and near, restore the sound attitude of artist
Immersive enjoyment of concert hall
Reproduce the fully and delightfully of outdoor concert, touch the sound flow in the air

It looks like the R10 but it doesn't seem like wood.

Either the information is wrong or Nomax is talking about a different headphone. If Nomax is talking about a different headphone then I'm even more excited because that would mean two flagships released in one year.

Its always funny when people make statements like this when the headphone is not released yet nor has it even been shown in its final construct.

For all you know they could sound dramatically different or maybe even a lot better than the MDR 7520. Writing them off now as overpriced and no good is ridiculous folly.

Wait for it there's a long time to go yet.
Who knows what that artists rendition is or is not showing.
This will be a fun ride.
