High-End Earbuds (VE, Blox, SHOZY etc) and Earbud Gear Discussion & Impressions Thread

Conclusion: Dasetn’s first professionally packaged and delivered earbud is a homerun in my opinion. These things sound amazing and have no business being priced the same as a burger combo at your local fast food joint (which I think Dasetn actually mentions in his eBay listing for the MC5 lol). Although full disclosure, I still listen to the M760 the most for my portable music needs (at least for the time being), I was close to replacing them with the MC5.

Have you ever had experience with the JVC marshmallow? I'm very intrigued by these for some new beater earbuds but not sure if i'd rather spend a little more on something else.

Do you mean Gumy cause marshmallow are not earbuds? No matter anyhow as JVC earbuds just aren't that good at all. best to avoid them.

Slightly off topic, but I was going through some stuff I packed away 10 years ago, and found my first ever pair of IEMS (by Sony) and also my very old Koss Plugs, plus these (posing next to the Tingos to keep it topical):

The drivers are smaller than I remember. It probably means my other AIWA and SONY buds are hidden somewhere in another box. The Tingos are more efficient and have better bass. The sound from the AIWAs is very clear, but there's no low end. But back then, I didn't have much to compare them to except for cans. IEMs were still the almost exclusive domain of the professional recording industry.

I'll take the M760, M1, M3, and T-38s over these AIWAs. But it also probably means I have more of my now vintage Japanese buds somewhere in other boxes. I got really excited when I found them and realized no one in my real life would care - so I posted it here.

A month ago or so i ordered the tingo tg-38s directly from the dasetn store.
Previously i had bought the yuin pk3 mod from a dasetn account on ebay, and that one pair worked good until a little accident happened and a high intensity signal dislocated the drivers inside the shells, so the sound was still present but now of poor quality. that's my fault i guess. They're gone now.
I've been listening for a week to the tingos, and i want to say i'm dissappointed.
I was dissappointed listening to the pk3 mod as well, to me the quality of these 2 earbuds is on par with what i can buy at my superstore with 10€, like the cheapest philips, sony, pioneer, and minor stuff.
That means they're not bad or faulty but nothing special either, whereas regardless of the cost if you buy something highly praised you hope it's a steal.
The tingos i have lack mids, i hear a V eq like that of a wah-wah pedal for guitar in open position...this happens obviously with or without the stock foam pads.
Soundstage or details representation is really secondary to that aspect.
Build quality i'm totally satisfied, they're solid.
I wouldn't and won't buy them again if something happens to them.
I may try another cheap bargain from dasetn in the future but if it lets me down 3/3 i am done. I realize the tingos are not a dasetn product and the store is just selling them. I'll generalize here, forgive me.

JVC marshmellow is an IEM. They compare in quality to the Phillips and Sony IEMs at that price. Not offensive sounding, but also not hi-fi. JVC also makes the gummies and Sony and Phillips also have buds around the same price. With the buds, I'd have to say Phillips is the loser and Sony and JVC are about the same - again - not offensive, but not hi-fi - but also not low-fi. I think the cheap Chinese buds we are all discussing sound better - but this is also clearly a matter of taste. The japanese manufacturers are clearly going for a specific sound signature that is is present in their speakers. I don't like the sound of japanese speakers (it's not a bad sound mind you) - so if someone actually favors the japanese sound for speakers -they might actually appreciate the japanese buds or IEMs.

Guys i gave a second chance to tingo 38s and it is decent but the vocals sound artificial and not natural at all . I dont know if it is just mine but the vocals are bad , is like they jave 3d effect . The guitar sound vert good to be honest , separtion of instruments decent at most , soundstage mediore . Build qualuty extremely good but they are tangled extremely eadsily

I have my old Aiwa but they needed these 3 holes mostly covered with some tape....

...or the bass was a bit loose and out of focus. They do have bass. Plenty. Add up the TC100 and TG38S amounts together. I would take Aiwa with the mod over either of the Tingo or current BLOX stuff. Best purchase this year on audio probably :) Tenore and Mikros were good purchases and I like the Tingo buds but I feel I got the most for my $$$ with the Aiwa's

My final thought about Tingos 38s can be found HERE. For me, 38s is not as good as it was "supposed" to be and definitely not corresponds to any of my music tastes. And anyway even if they are not so bad at pop/jazz musics, PK1 destroy them quite easily.
After seeing that many recommands Dasetn M760 earbuds, I decided to spend 26 dollars and give a try to them. I should receive them in 2 weeks or so. I hope I won't be disapointed like I really was about these 38s, since it costs higher than most of "budget" buds. I already have Awei ES10 and for 5 dollars, I didn't find anything as good in term of sounding, at the exception of my PK1. Comparing a 120$ earbud with 5$ could seems ridiculous of course but it's always nice to compare with the "king" of earbuds
Btw, to the guy here who asked if OK1 worth money, I was in the same situation but since I already own PK1, it does not worth upgrading to it. It looks having less bass but more detailed highs than PK1 coupled with a slightly less "fun" touch and more neutral sounding. It depends of your music tastes I would say.
I will make a review of M760 (properly burned) once received, compared to my Awei ES10, PK1 and 38s.

Thanks for this thread btw :)

Thanks for this thread btw :)

I added your review to the original post (if anyone else has any more links feel free to post them here and I'll add them religiously).

Also, I think you'll like the Dasetn 760 unless you're a superbasshead (which your username might suggest). I think that the 760 just sounds clearer and on another level than the earbud cheapies we are discussing. Please post your impressions when you get them. Things you'll hopefully notice with the 760 is that they are much more natural sounding and less harsh while retaining almost all the details of the TG38S.

And...I might be changing up the official recommendation lists on the original post so if anyone has advice on what to make it up there, it's a democratic process. We can discuss it here.

GoldenSHK, are the buds on the 1st page listed in order of highest recommendation on top?

Currently, yes. I used my own criteria at the genesis of the thread to make the rankings. I was thinking of having an open vote system to determine the ranking order or an aggregate review average but nothing is set in stone yet. Currently, the rankings are my own personal recommendations as decided by reading most of the entire last dasetn thread and following the old earbud roundup thread for years so I didn't just randomly make this list up, a good amount of time went into it.
