Can X7 play DXD Files? What about the filter problem in high resolution audio that explain the article:

Is is true that DXD sound best than DSD (Super Audio CD)? What is the future format of audio quality for an audiophile?

Bluetooth feature is very useful in a car which can pair with bluetooth capable devices like a phone so that you could at least control media from your steering wheel without need to physically access a device connected to AUX port in a car which is not safe on the road.

And what is the sound quality and bitrate throw the Bluetooth connection?

if I understand dxd correctly, it is just 352 kHz PCM (dxd wav's are what I've seen), taken from dsd but used for editing purposes, & not returned to dsd format. So no audible difference.

apt-x Bluetooth is ~ 16/44.1 lossless
but YMMV

DXD taken from DSD for editing are the past. Now recordings are in DXD. The are also stores that sells music in DXD directly from the master. You can read more in this article i think is very good:

P.D. I do not work for that store and the link is not to make publicity of that store. I think that is a good article that also explain the results of the double blind listening tests telling that high resolution audio has nothing to do and hears the same as Audio CD Quality.

Ah. Might we keep this on topic of X7, then?

It will surely play DSD & up to 192 kHz (as you say, more than anyone needs) like all other FiiO players, that we know.

The X7 hardware is basically finalised, now, so I'm only discussing what follows, in a general sense.

In terms of pocket/portable usage of DAPs, I'd like to see the return of the in-line remotes that were so popular during the mid-to-late 1990s, on Discmans and MiniDisc players. They were really useful, although the electroluminescent illumination on the inline-remote LCD displays did induce some temporary audible noise. I don't know if that was the reason they fell out of popular use, or if it was because the early mp3 players were so tiny that remotes were deemed superfluous.

In terms of arriving home from work, with a DAP playing, I'd like (as I mentioned a few pages back) the possibility of a bluetooth (or infrared!, LOL) remote to allow the DAP to be hooked up to a hi-fi (the old-fashioned way, via the headphone-out or line-out), and controlled from an armchair with the remote. I know James said he is envisaging a possible future scenario with the X7, whereby it could be controlled via bluetooth, not with a dedicated bluetooth remote, but with a cellphone acting (via bluetooth) as a remote, courtesy of appropriate software app.

But I really don't see much logic in using a cellphone to control a DAP in my pocket, via bluetooth. Just seems daft to me!

  (I don't mean that personally)

How about using tiny remote like this??

Its very little, and most of things I really get annoyed with my hdp-r10 is the thing that its bluetooth doesnt work with my tiny remotes...

If they only used newer android - all would be perfect... but no, damn gingerbread was put on it :) (android 2.3 is like windows millenium...)

Fro me bluetooth is not for listening but using my media keyboards with it :) It is really handy.

James, you could create half inch size media remote by bluetooth and sell it as accessories part!

That would be brilliant!!! Imagine small FiiO keyring/media remote controlling your megadap in deep pocket.

Wow, that would be quite awesome. Its really handy when you travel in subway or in traffic... and people always stare at my fancy toys...

This is actually an interesting idea. A new market for accessories.

DIdn't he mention not too far back how they were not going make a separate remote, but rather do it through and app-like method? connecting a smartphone or the like through bluetooth for the functionality pretty sure they did. (I'm too lazy to look. This thread's been cruising since I last peaked)

Yes, but when a 'keychain remote accessory' was brought up I found it interesting after the iRiver discusions. Believe me, I'll wait for James to do what James will do, but I think it's a unique idea that would be neat to implement. Not just for FiiO but the whole player market with BT including smartphones. Would be handy.
