About the 2g+64g X7. today I have a meeting with our R/D department, and they told me that they have to redesign the PCB and take time to test the 2G RAM in X7. consider now 1G RAM is far more enough for music play , and I have not received any complain about the RAM size. to save the time for our new model and make thing easy, now we cancelled the 2G+64G version.

to anyone who waiting for this version I am very sorry about that and we will remember this and make it clear when we develop the X7ii in the future.

Is there a rough estimate date for X7ii ? Next year 2017 or Xmas 2016?

A typical FiiO product life cycle is around 2 years, just FYI.

The Google Settings app seem to have installed automatically on my X7. I also get occasional pop up windows with Google Play services error. Has anyone experienced this? I didn't update any thing from factory reset on fw 1.8 except installing Tidal. Below is a image to better show you the app I'm referring to:

yes, happened to me, too. Google play services error and the google settings app showed up in android mode, And never installed any additional apps so far. Just uninstalled google play services and it disappeared. nothing to worry about.....

So,does this mean that there will be no versions of the original X7 with increased internal storage released?

That is exactly what it means.

How do you uninstall Google play services ?

Hold its icon in the apps section, then drag to uninstall.

or

If it is showing in the notification bar, hold press it and it will give you an option for app info. Press that, then you can disable or uninstall from there.

or

Go to the list of apps in the settings menu. Find the app you want and disable or uninstall.

Has anyone managed to get "Idle power off" working? I've set mine for 22 mins. I just pause Tidal streaming app and closed screen display. I came back after an hour and unit was not powered off ?

Nothing concrete has been planned or announced.

Yes James said clearly there will be no changes to the X7. He said a new X7ii will come out, but that isn't going to be identical so hence that means no new X7 with upgraded hardware is going to happen. It will be an X7ii and have a new PCB and likely some other layout changes.

Yep, too many people were unhappy with Fiio selling a "better" dap than they have. They paid for a totl dap and damn well want it to last!!

Which I think is fair enough for customers to expect. I see both sides, but ultimately the customer is more wronged than FiiO was by getting panned publically.

Well, to be honest, more RAM and storage would not have changed the sound quality at all. I don't think the 2gb RAM would have been necessary but a 64gb internal storage SKU would have been welcome. Sometimes being completely open like FiiO has been can bite them in the backside.
