Yes the iMON looks interesting. I approve of wideband crossover-free drivers (as does Thorsten - remember the Transparence?). Dome tweeters are generally the spawn of the dark one but may be tolerable as a supertweeter. Shame they had to put a hole in the iMON. I wonder if they will consider a larger version with a proper woofer? If it has to be a small 2-way then I prefer a closed box and add a sub if necessary.

The widebandet you mean is the Retro LS3/5 which was also at the same show last year. It was also on facebook. What i was on aboug is the 'iMon' which comes in black or white version test models. They look even better in the flesh and sounded very impressive even at moderate levels as i did not hear them really cranked up. They may be a touch big for desktopps

Ah, the iMON is something different. OK. I got confused. Can't find any references to it. Are there any specs or photos online?

There's mention of it here http://www.head-fi.org/t/711217/idsd-micro-crowd-designed-a-teeny-weeny-update-page-104/1500#post_10733382

and one headfi-er here has the iMON as his profile picture (though I don't know where he found the photo).

Yes. They told me they are going all the way with their own custom drivers for the iMon (and LS 3/5A i recall but this was late last year so I may not be 100%). This is part of the reason for the delay (my guess) I remain doubtful of the custom drivers because of the cost involved.

In the flesh it looks sexy as hell. Gorgeous. Hard to say that of speaker. I jusf hope the final unit does not lose. Those lines. White for me all day long. I think they told me their nickname was darth vader and stormtrooper. Someone at ifi certainly has sense of humour.

Thanks for the review of the Micro iDSD..

Five days is a good starting point. Try a total of 400 Hours for full break-in...

Polarity Switch should be in the "+" setting most of the time, unless you have an ear for Polarity in recordings.
