I am using the iDSD Nano & iCAN Nano !

what you guys could consider to add in the iDSD Micro ~

- The Ability to use USB power or internal long battery life like the iCAN Nano . too many products need wall sockets :frowning2:

- The Critically Acclaimed 3D Holographic switch !

- Balanced capabilities

- Colour coding LED for Different Samples (like the iDSD)

- Importantly a high end DAC chipset which is capable of bringing out the best out of the music , be it 44.1kHz or DSD

- Capability to play Double-rate DSD , Quad-rate DSD & Octa-rate DSD (that would be overkill)

- Pure Zero Jitter Technology

- Add some AMR technology into it ! ^^

Hi

Bad news - you missed the close of the competition by a few days.

Good news - you are in the pot for an iPurifier.

More good news - watch out for features which are going to be announced in the next few days.

Dont worry, Thorsten Loesch of AMR and his team "breathe on" all iFi equipment.

It's the only sub US$500 audio equipment that continues to soar in "big rig" high-end hifi systems. We should know, we do this regularly for audio shows around the world!

Hi and welcome,

iFi doesnt do things by half so if you have a chance, have a listen to the iDAC and you will get a sense of what this little "pocket rocket" can do. The micro iDSD will roll off from the same production line.

Yes - the battery is unanimous as the nano iDSD has already told us that to shift high volume, it needs to appeal to the portable market and therefore it needs to be self-powered.

Galvanically-isolated is par for the course for iFi! The micro iDSD will have it and other attention to detail to ensure the highest purity of signal path. Check out the nano iDSD. This is a winning formula for us and the user feedback has been the same.

Touch base with Audio Soul (iFi Greece). Feel free to go and audition the iFi "big rig" with your headphones.

Hi!!!
Thnx for your answer!!!
I hope the iDSDs arrive soon in AudioSoul!! Many people are waiting...
They are one of the best guys I have ever dealed with in my audio "jurney"!!!!

I voted 75% desktop, 25% portable.

And by the way - I wrote here a few words about the iFi iPhono:

I know the crowd design is over, but I can see that iFi is a company that wants to hear from its customers. Therefore, I'm going to highlight the importance of including quality, stable and robust ASIO 2.2 (beyond 2.1) compliant drivers for Windows users. Just sayin'

Designer's Diary (1)

Hi all. It's been a tough few weeks, feasibility studies, trying to fit everything, like trying to pour two pints of Guinness into a single pint glass.
beerchug.gif

It's 23.07 GMT and we've just tucked into a KFC party bucket. While we aren't having a party, we're having a ball pushing ahead with the micro iDSD.

Here is pretty much the mechanical design, confirmed and in part with models built to confirm things fit. Much of the design matches what Roamling showed in the first few days, colour us impressed, we could not do much better.

Starting with the front, this will mostly resemble the iCan nano in layout, with the 3D Holographic sound and X-Bass switches.

The HP Jack will be 6.3mm. What you can only see on the next picture is that the Filter switch is a slider switch on the left hand side surface which will fit flush.

On the back you see leftmost the SPDIF input/output. This will be very interesting, more another time.

The two RCA line outputs are in the middle, then the USB input. We have built a mock-up and tested that even with modestly fat "high end" RCA connectors that just manages to fit.

So, externally at least we can deliver a lot of what you all have asked for. More to come...

Ciao,

Thorsten

Excellent design! We can still listen to music while it's charging right, iFi?

from what i recall in the nano iDSD thread, there are two ways to power the device, via battery and via AC input. if one turns the unit on before connecting the USB cable to the computer, then i think it will run off the battery but still charge at the same time (correct me if this is wrong, iFi).

Super cool. Will the xbass and 3D work through the rca outputs in addition to the headphone out? (Please?)
