How do im02 compared to re0. I loved the re0 but I wished they had a bigger sounstage and little bit more bass.

IM02 has definetely bigger soundstage with more forward mids and has a bit more bass than RE0. But you will loose those wonderful  treble detail of RE0s.

I am go now to sell my Audio-Technica ATH-IM02 - too much mids for me. I can't listen piano and  Lana Del Rey voice - all this sounds pressure on my ears, want to take off IEMs from my head.
I want try to buy ATH-IM03.
In this topic I've read reviews that they are U-sign and bad on high (on FiiO X3)
Other people talking about they are much good after too much mids of ATH-IM02.
Any suggestions for my FiiO X1 ?

Bad news for me and good news to IM50/70 owners.

Bad news is that my IM50 is broken while I was working on a mod.

But it was me who broke them.Nethless to say they are built like a tank.
Good news is to folks here who are thinking to remove the filters and afraid of dust, hair, earwax which can harm the drivers. You shouldn't be afraid as there is also a white paper filter on the end of the nozzle that protects the drivers which you can see in the pictures below.

Now you can go and remove them without any fear of harming the drivers!!

Here are some inner pictures of my broken IM50s. Enjoy it!

Btw, the driver is really huge on this.

Just bought IM02 and hunting for compact players with low output impedance. Lot of discussion about how they sound but very few are interested in actually pairing with more compatible music players.

I'll kick off the list with what I've found out so far. Cowon J3 (1.5 ohm) and Sansa clip.

Apart from the OP's suggestions, which among the IM01, IM02 and IM03 is the best for someone looking for a neutral sound with some added bass emphasis (but not anything close to basshead levels), and a smooth, non-peaky, non-sibilant treble? I should also add that I will be using these for super-portable use, so I will be driving them from a Sony Xperia S, most of the time, not exactly a high-level source.

I'm coming from a set of VSonic GR07 MkIIs, which definitely lack a natural-sounding, realistic weight and fullness in the general low-end, and have a spiky, sometimes shouty upper-mid to treble area.
