Thanks, project86. Will you be doing review on the Hugo? Would really look forward to it.

Yep, I'll be reviewing it as soon as I spend enough time with it.

please compare others dac you have specially matrix-sabre
is hugo the clear winner of all your dac so far?

Not the clear winner of all my DACs... I don't think it's better than my Resonnesence Labs Invicta Mirus (or the original Invicta which I still have on hand). But it's definitely competitive with some of my favorite full-size units like Anedio D2, Matrix X-Sabre, Yulong DA8, and Quesyle CAS192. These range from $1100 to $2000 and are all quite good in their own right. When you consider the Hugo is  tiny portable thing, with a built in amp (that is very good), it's almost unbelievable how good it is.

I do like it better than the Esoteric D-07x, so it's not like Hugo can't beat some more expensive DACs either.

But for DSD, wich device is not ok? Or wich device is ok?

And second thing even with rockbox we can not use an ipod classic with DSD file on it?

I can confirm that my iPhone5 can play back DSD, DXD, FLAC, etc. files. When playing DSD file the LED indicator on the HUGO is showing WHITE color. While playing DXD file the color change to PURPLE.

Here is what you need: CCK and Onkyo HF Player (you'll need to purchase it to enable HD music).

I believe the Onkyo HF Player actually does DoP as opposed to native DSD.

On Android, I believe Note 3 can play DSD without any additional software.  For other android devices that support USB 2.0, you need a player similar to the player to need for Onkyo HF Player for iDevices.  I think USB Audio Player PRO might support DSD but someone else will need to comment on it.

So could a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone with the USB Audio Player PRO, output DSD to the Hugo? I emailed the software company that put out the app but haven't heard anything back yet. Since devices that can output the DSD signal to the Hugo are all new to me, I am still trying to get a grasp of this.

That's what I've been trying to find out, too.

I've been searching Android and DSD all time. However, I just kept getting Direct Sales Delivery or even Drainage Service Department etc.

Well it is pretty new to me. Someone has to know. I hope to hear back from the software people doing Audio Player Pro.

That's new to me and I didn't know that. So the stock player that came with Note 3 could actually read *.DSF as well as *.DFF files?

If that were the case, time to talk to my buddies who rooted their Note 3 and then rip the APK file. LOL

Are there any DSD test files I can get legally for free? Can test them out with UAPP.
