Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Fair enough if we are talking about those products. But how about in the context of Schiit products?

Do you really wanna be reaching behind your gear to plug and unplug in a setup like this?

Power switches make sense for those that don't want to leave gear powered on all the time or have a wiring project on their hands each time they want to change things up.

(Not my rig)

Yes, unplugging will suffice.  Same is true for lights, microwave ovens, and fans.  Don't need a switch, can just plug/unplug your lamps when you enter or leave a room.

Who needs plugs?

Just use the circuit breaker!

Be like my wife---once you turn it on, why bother to turn it off!!

Actually, that's what I do. I leave my gear on all the time.

Even the toobs.

Fair enough, I appreciate the response and I absolutely get the reasoning behind it!

Sounds like you should start up a company offering black finishes to Schiit gear. I bet you could make some money of it.

Or, maybe you can't.

Wanna find out?

I actually do wonder how it'd turn out - not starting up a company offering black finishes for Schiit gear per se but how profitable it would or wouldn't be for Schiit to arrange black chassis to be produced at the same rate as their standard silver ones.

One would assume considering they don't do it that they know for a fact it would be next to impossible to profit from it (or enough to warrant bothering with it) but I'd still be curious to know how many other people would like black finishes on their Schiit gear - there have been several threads where the subject was approached and a lot of people stepped forward showing interest but that's obviously not an accurate judgement of the market.

I am Pretty Sure this is the Interview where Mike Addresses His experience when dealing with the surround sound world. He Having Been the first to design the first DTS Processor I get the feeling that's its more of a Been there done that, no thanks. I believe it was mentioned that we would rather Design Deep fryers.

I'm not sure what it takes to partner with Colorware, but they do nice work. Maybe it's as simple as Schiit giving them instructions on how to disassemble their cases...no cost to Schiit and happy customers that want to pay for customization.

Dolby Atmos? No, sorry, we'll leave that insanity for other companies. As far as I know, though, nobody's getting rich off surround processors (alone) these days.

Hmm... I think Emotiva is up to their or fourth dedicated buzzword-compliant pre-processor. http://emotiva.com/products/pres-and-pros/mc-700 . I don't think there are any companies that -only- make surround processors, but Emotiva wouldn't keep making them if they weren't profitable for them.

Disclaimer: I own and like their previous entry-level pre-pro, the UMC-200. I won't need to replace it until/unless I get 4k video playback.

  VIDAR, VIDAR, Vidar, vidar.....!

If you wish to truly appease the Gods, that image needs to be much larger, and in a higher resolution as well.
