I'm sure you mean this, but I only have one very minor bug and that is gapless not working between the first 2 tracks played after power on. Other than this the current fw (and previous) are rock solid with my use and does everything I need

Not the only bug though ... the current firmware has stuffed up loading tags from .ogg files.

Has anyone the same sound cut issue on his macbook than me ? I tried factory reset on the 2.30 firmware but the DX90 while working as a DAC is still cutting the sound every 10 seconds .... it is very irritating.

Same thing for me, and other customers on the forum.
I have been chatting with them about this problem for several weeks.
Today again, I have been confirmed that they know the issue, and they are working on a way to fix it.
Hopefully it will not take that long.
AFAIK, I need to use it 75% of the time as a DAC, therefore even though I love it as a DAP, this is very frustrating.
I trust them anyway, and I am sure they will fix it.

So I've tried dx90 dac with rune audio on raspberry pi 2, the music plays but has gap(silence) every 2 or 3 seconds while playing.
I've tried changing the audio buffer size in rune audio configuration page but it doesn't help,
anyone here have any idea?

P.S. rune audio is a arch linux based operating system design for raspi 2 to play music

my setup: usb stick > raspi 2 > dx90(linux dac) > earphone (gap problem)
setup 2: usb stick > raspi 2 > xonar u7 > earphone (works fine)

also a quick note it works perfectly when I use xonar u7 as dac,
the gap problem only comes up when I use dx90 as dac connect to raspi 2.

I reported this silence issue a month ago, testing dx90 as a DAC with raspberry pi 2 installed with Linux but no one bother about it.
Also an update on this, dx90 had failed to get recognize as DAC on raspi 2 with rune audio or volumio,
it worked initially (with silence problem) when I pluged in the dx90,but after few second the music hangs completely,
display screen started to go crazy, switching between charging screen, playback screen and DAC screen, just like dx90 had no idea how to handle the usb connection towards raspi 2.

Of course on raspi 2 side, it also had lost connection to dx90 and failed to identify the device as a DAC(no dx90 to selected in external DAC list).
Both raspi 2 rune audio and volumio are using ALSA as their main audio driver to identify DACs and process audio just like other Linux system,
I've also tried dx90 connect directly to an ubuntu Linux machine and it works with ALSA but have silence problem (ubuntu successfully identified dx90 as DAC).

Dx90 is one piece of great machine, if it could also work with raspberry pi 2 Linux hifi music players (rune audio or volumio) that would be even better.

So I did tried the DX90 with the Jaben demo unit in my local store. It seems it clips on the same track as well. Happen to both DX90. Is it a hardware fault or just coincidence? Btw, when turning on and off the DX90 I can hear 2 clicking sound. It's normal right I wonder.

  Hi,
Reading up on the dx90. I am interested in buying this one as a dap AND using it as a dac with macbook air and speakers and for iphone.
Is this last dac part possible or still problematic?
Sorry if posted in wrong thread so many to choose from.
Thanks in advance for any info,
Greetings, Anouk,

What do you mean by "this last dac part possible or still problematic?" ?? I don't really get it.

Wants to know if DX90 can be used as a DAC for iPhone. Pretty sure the answer is no.

You're absolutely right....it's a NO

So last night, somewhat on a whim, I rolled my firmware back to 2.2.0 and for the first time in forever paired my DX90 with my NX1 for bedtime listening. I plugged in my Titan 1s simply because I've never been particularly enamored with them and they get the least play time out of all my IEMs. I don't quite understand what happened next, but . . .

Wow!

I think the correct word here is synergy. The bass felt significantly tighter and more impactful than with 2.3.0; the treble was clear without being overly-bright or aggressive; the mids had a healthy body to them without sounding muddled; and both imaging and sound stage were more impressive than I ever recall hearing from the DUNUs.

In retrospect this is surely a matter of common sense and I'm sure at least some readers will shake their heads at this admission, but I'd never quite realized how much your firmware can affect the synergy between your headphones and DAP. Neat stuff, for sure.
