Can you really tap the outputs without any other components needed?

I think you might just regret your project when done but if you want to go ahead then I can't wait to hear your results. :beerchug:

Somebody has to step forward otherwise we won't find out if it's possible lol. Good luck.

Would love if somebody could replace the trs lo with a trrs lo as I already have a trrs->kobicon that I used between a HM801 and SR71-B

There's only one way to find out, isn't there? I'm (naively) thinking that it's just a matter of finding the right place on the PCB to tap the signal.

TRRS lo is actually not a bad idea at all. Would look quite a bit cleaner, that's for sure. Fitting it in there is going to be a bitch though.

I do believe the 2.5mm trrs lo would be a good idea as manufacturer starts making cables for the ak240. we can just take that advantage and get a better dap with good support of audiopile cable.

Alright then @sorensiim you got yourself a challenge here. May I suggest you buy two DX90 just in case you mess up the first one.

Oh yeah, that might happen... This is usually how my "this should be pretty straight-forward"-projects go:

The 76db crosstalk number jumps out as a bit low to me? X3 has >90db (@10KΩ), AK100 claimed ~120 (@no load).... in any case I don't put much stock into marketing specs and can't wait to hear it for myself soon.

Crosstalk doesn't mean much to me, especially on headphones. I remember a member of the Audio Note UK designers when we were talking about headphones and systems and the least of his concern was crosstalk as he felt a little actually improved the sound on headphones. I can understand why. Anyway, the DX90 is going to please a lot of people and those that might have spent a whole lot more money to get this sound as they won't have to empty out their pockets.

I agree with Jamato, actually a little bit of crosstalk is desirable. It made old stereo recording listenable. Headphone amps like Corda has a switch to blend the channel even further.

I love LPs, crosstalk. Anyway, This is a very powerful, small, top grade DAP that is going to blow your socks off. I like the opa1611 and am very familiar with the sound. Now combine that with a Sabre dac per channel and pack all of that into the same case as the DX50, crazy. Exciting stuff. :^)

Sorry about the OT, but did we ever get to find out what op-amp the DX100 packs?! OPA627 on the HDP-R10, but since SQ was established as different, and likely not attributable to just the different battery pack...

Not that I am aware of.
