Nope went through it with the DX100. At 1.27 I liked where it was and gave up on any subsequent firmware updates.

Keep your hope high, they may come up with a future upgrade worth keeping like they did for the DX50 and version 1.2.8. That's still the same version I have on mine, mind you they have not produced a new one since and thinking that when they make the USB function available, it might not palatable. Like Forest Gump's mom said to Forest once "Life is like a box of chocolates, Forrest. You never know what you're gonna get

I wonder why they can't add some sort of customizable setting on how the dac should be tuned.. That way they could implement several different sound signatures.

iBasso just send me this message.

"Hi,
I am sorry if you you dont like the sound of the new firmware.
We will release another firmware after 2~3 weeks.   I will make it closer to the V2.0.0

Sincerely
iBasso Audio"

I think although iBasso isn't entirely organised with software/firmware update releases, I have to say they have always had a decent customer service and attitude. I must say that I admire that

If my memory serves me well, on the next firmware some people will complain about loosing the sound signature under 2.0.5 while others will embrace the new one or if iBasso is lucky, version 2.0.0. By the way I heard this promise before and they still could not bring the older version back, at least last time they emailed back saying to their knowledge they have not change the sound signature. So let's have a good seat and.

I just tried the new firmware and I can understand how some of you guys don't like this new firmware sound. It does make the outer extremities better including a bit of stage but seems like in doing so sacrifices a bit of the mids. Mids sounds distant compared to the older firmware.. For me I would like a mix of both firmwares.  The mids of the first firmware with the treble bass and stage of the new firmware.  I can live with either one to be honest but I am hoping for a middle ground here.

After reading comments relating to the degradation of the SQ following the firmware update, I was almost convinced to forego this update, but as usual, my curiosity got the better of me and I successfully completed the update.

I was pleased to find that most, if not all, of the UI nits had been addressed and at first listen, I was pleased to find that I could hear very little difference in the sound following the update. I did run through a quick audition using most of my IEM's and over-ear phones just to make sure that I wasn't really missing the changes. That said, I can easily hear the difference between the two digital filters and personally prefer the slightly warmer sound of the slow roll-off. The short roll-off for me just seems to take a bit of life out of the musical panorama and seems to make edges a bit sharper, but for warmer phones, this might be a good thing. It for sure will be a matter of personal preference, as there is no "right" choice.

Regardless of how one accomplishes the update, I personally feel that a "Wipe and Factory Reset" is never wasted. It may be possible that this can alleviate some of the changes in SQ reported following firmware updates.

Even if my supposition regarding SQ changes is incorrect, IMO, the W & FR is never wasted, as it will positively remove any leftovers from a previous firmware and often prevent unwanted issues from showing up at first reboot. It will NOT erase the contents of an SD card nor will it erase any custom wallpaper that you have placed in the root directory.

Yes, FiiO does. That, I can personally confirm.

I remember going for the very first version when reviewing it (X5) to the first firmware released and could not detect any sound sq changes, would you say that 2.0 has changed that. Also does it go from ok to better? Just curious because I did not experience the change you seem to vouch for.

I am getting used to the sound of this new firmware and using my ATH-IM03. I think I prefer the new firmware sound using the slow roll-off..Sound separation is a touch better while smoothing out the sound some using the new firmware.  It sounds awesome. For guys that immediately returned to the older firmware.. You need to get used to the sound presentation a bit more on the new firmware. It will change your thoughts on the new firmware sound..

This is definitely not a step back in SQ.

Hi there

Can anyone tell me if the new firmware update will work with a mac computer?

And can they put the process of updating into simple step by step instructions? How do you do it?

Thanks
