I was waiting for this picture to pop up :-D
True true.

I think I'm save to say that the DX90 vs X5 "war" won't end the same way...PC beating these two DAPs is pretty unlikely :)
(if we want to stay portable)

 I am also in between X5 and DX90. Will choose one of them most probably. X5 has higher capacity which is a B I G plus for me on the other hand DX90 shines with its dual sabre dac. However I should say, as it is most probably an unpopular opinion, I like the controls of X5. I always and always prefer physical buttons, instead of touchscreen.
 
Touchscreen is the worst thing happened to daps, IMO and I know many will disagree with this

Edit: lol I made a typo, DX92. Yup it is an upgraded version of DX90, which has a balanced line out and headphone out

I am madly in love with the buttons on the DX50 and very, very happy to see them carry over to the DX90 as well. Touchscreens are fine for phones and tablets, NOT for a DAP. Being able to just reach out and skip a track or pause the music without having to first power on the device and look down is a must have.

same here
i can operate clip+ without even looking,,,meaning forward,backward and volume

walkman side controls are difficult to get i think,,,i may be wrong though

Le sigh... It's a loooong way 'til March!! I need some sort of "new toy" fix soon!

Maybe I should pick up a used X3 just to try it up against the DX50... Or build myself some new cables. Or start modding my 595's... Or take up cocaine, I hear it's a cheaper addiction than Head-Fi!

Get some new wire and build a new IC.

Well I upgraded my cable on the TH900, ESW10 JPN, and the LCD2 and with the wire that was used, heard an improvement, which I don't always do. So if you have wire you like, why not. It is good to have projects that involve manual, mental and finally aural enjoyment. I need to stay active also. I get fidgety. Most likely that is why I have so many IC's I have made and in the past, all the modifications I have made, including my own designed and built equipment. Sometimes what is envisioned as a step forward is a step back but hey, you don't know until you try but the more research the better the outcome, right? Yea, right. :^)
