how is the sound with the new FW compared to the lurker 2.1.5 ?

I'm using EQ a lot as finding DX90 treble overpowering my headphones

First thing I noticed from FW 2.1.8 is the smoothness of the sound. I think it better than Lurker's 2.1.5 L2 FW. Anyone else have any comment? :)

If no improvement to sound quality I will stick with 2.15 which i think works perfectly well.

just a rough listen from the lineout
soundstage is widen and seperation seems better
the bass have more presence while still keeping the tightness.
The mid especially the vocal range becomes more intimate.
Cant say anything on high at the moment.
Overall sound sig becomes more fun sounding than the 2.15 lurker L2.

i found it more fun than 2.1.5 lurker L2 too, need lurker font update asap..
 
i think the power output is somehow more powerful than last FW..
honestly i dont understand about this DAP world.., i think it's very very diffuse on how people want their sound.., and thats DAP advantage dan its absolutely disadvantages..

Would anyone know why all my tracks are mixed up?
I take a CD, transfer it via pc Windows Media Player (Wav or 320mp3) to a file. Then  drag and drop it onto the
DX90s sd card.
 
When I go to the player - all the tracks are out of order.
Pretty annoying.
Using version 2.1.5 since I bought the player.

I think the mid can be a little bit clearer.
The mid in 2.1.8 is a bit muddy since the high bass region is a bit blended into the low mid.
Hope lurker ver can magically improve this:)

yes, your definition make me understand, IMHO the 2.1.5 have every departments very clear.., but i feel like sometimes it's very cold..

But the 2.1.8 sounds fun isnt it?
If the mid can be clearer that would be another choice of FW for whom in love with dance/trance/rock type song.
For classical? Maybe just stick with the 2.1.5:D
