Nice review on the H3! It's making me salivate for the H-300 actually, can't wait to get my hands on it

When are you receiving the DN-2000?
Love to hear your thoughts on it, think your impressions are quite similar to mine usually

Plus... get on the Ostry mate :D

Your thought about the XBA-H3's mid is the same as my opinion to XBA-30's; but to put it worse, XBA-30 has that painful, piercing, and harsh upper treble that drowns the details from instruments.

Thanks my friend.

The DN-2000 might get here in a week's time for review. I'm also really excited to hear the improvements on this one.

I've been on to the Ostry since its discovery, just don't have the extra funds to secure it. I'm really holding off other expenses because I might be really keen on getting the DN-2000.

 You made this possible...

I had the XBA 3 but didn't find the treble harsh and the mids were quite neutral with no drastic recession.. Did you do something to the filters? Any chance that they could be defective? I was under the impression that the XBA 30 was more refined that the XBA 3.

Actually, I had bought used XBA-30 from a head-fier here, iemagnet01, and noticed that the filters were mostly removed. I've looked up that the new XBA-30 has the nozzle fully covered with the foams. That's the most important update from XBA-3 as more filters equals more controlled upper treble, isn't it? That's probably why; I've tried putting foams on my own and never been able to get rid that "painful" upper treble. That teaches me not to buy used IEM. I've been fooled that he said it's new and didn't realize the filters were altered. Planning to buy the new one next time when the price gets real low.

Apparently, I saw that Iemagnet01 has been banned, which I don't know how, but I notice that he's kind of person that impulsively buy new earphones, keep it for little while, then resell it to someone. It appears that I'm the victim.

wow! that is disappointing. It's actually ok to buy used ones as long as you check the seller's reputation. If he's been here for a while, chances are he's good for it.

In regard to the filter, just keep at it mate. Keep trying other materials. It'll be more of a loss for you if you just give up.

Thanks for the H3 review! I'm thinking they won't be the best for any metal related listening, what with the recessed mids and all, but I would still like to try them. And I really want to know what they sound like with the ZX1...

I agree. Although with the tape mod, it is serviceable for metal but definitely not my favourite.

What tips were you using? - I noticed a big difference between the hybrid silicone vs foam filled or comply's. I noticed in your picture that the the foam filled are installed

I'm using the Sony Hybrid Noise Isolating tips - the ones with foam underneath.

Yeah, I was going to say "You lucky so and so - except for your wallet!". But I knew you'd fill in the blanks for me lol.

It's great that you are able to try all of this gear out, and great that you share your excellent impressions with us :)
