I have a pair of Silver Elco SR-22 interconnects going from my Jolida JD100 to the Headroom Max. I am trying to decide whether to go with a copper, silver, or silver-plated copper after market cable for my soon to be arriving Senn 650s. Any thoughts would be appreciated. John

I wouldn't worry about having "too much silver." Silver is generally a bit more "revealing" you could say and usually have a little bit of a brighter character but not all silver based cables sound exactly alike. I've always tended to like copper over silver but with my current system I definitely prefer silver IC's over the copper IC's I have tried. Sounds to me like the silver plated copper Zu Mobius doesn't sound like the stereotypical sonic description of silver plated copper (common: bright, ragged and edgy). You just never know. I think it would be too confining to base your decision on conductor type when looking for an aftermarket replacement cable for your HD650's. What I would do is get to know your new HD650's when you get them, break them in well, then see where your system is. Look at the plethora of impressions and sonic descriptions others have offered of the various after market cables out there here and in reviews to help guide your decision. Lots of good choices out there!

Yes ufokillerz I was a bit dyslexic. Also,Sean H good advice to burn the phones in thoroughly so I have a better idea whether changes are cable related or the phones settling in.

Sound change (or the lack of it) due to cables is so different on each individual system that the only way to find out for sure if a cable is a good match for your current batch of components is to try them out. Almost all Senn cable replacement makers have a 30-day return waranty, so you wont lose anything except shipment costs if you do not like it.

With the JD-100A I don't think there is such a thing as too much silver.

I think you are right Gopher and it is beginning to look like the silver dragons are the way to go.
