Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

The star dust on the front plate. I loved it and as soon as my wife saw it, she loved it too. I sent them email already and let's see what they say.

I think what you mean by "star dust" you are talking about glitter, and the way the material is made, there really is no control over the density of the glitter, it comes in "pockets" or veins....

Kind of like a caramel ribbon in ice cream.  The carmel may be your favorite part of the ice cream, but the ice cream is comprised of more than caramel.   Any how, there is some gliter in the face plate, and it is very difficult to take photos of glitter to get an accurate representation of what glitter looks like.

Thanks for your reply, Dr. Moulton.

The reason I got this design was based on all the component being together. The stardust look (glitter) seal the deal for me. I love the spacey look of it.

I understand your caramel example. I do see the glitter looking at the inner piece and some on the front plate. But the sample sets of picture I sent MKG (from your site), you can see the concentration at the face plate and none in the inner ear side. Which I think you make this separately and put together (correct me if I'm wrong). So there may be a different procedure here as oppose to the original Wizard design? If that's the case, then its not really a reprint I'm looking for.

Anyway, its still a beautiful piece (which means I'm 90% satisfy, not 100% expectation) and I will take a look at it when it arrives here.
Please understand, we are passionate of your work so expectation is through the roof.

When does the Look page you mentioned go live John?

Not sure, Brannan is on top of that, and he is at the show right now.

I'm leaning toward removing the reprint option, as people (not just you) take the term "re-print"  to a very literal sense, without understanding that much of what we do, if not all that we do can not be repeated. We can build "similar" or we can capture the spirit of the original, but we certainly can not capture a product 100%, as every product is as unique as a snow flake.   When people expect "exact" then disapointment is the result, which is a shame as sometimes, second, third or even fouth rendentions are better than the first.

I like the "Reprint" option, as it gives us all an opportunity to own some of the brilliant designs you've come up with. Nevertheless, one way to mitigate any potential disappointment is to rename the "Reprint" option to something akin to a "Similar Copy" instead. That way, you can manage the expectations of your customers better.

Anyway, I'd just like to say thanks for everything you've done. Hope you do consider keeping the "Reprint" option alive, albeit in a slightly different guise.

Don't do away with the 'reprint' please.
I perfectly understand the variation and appreciate it as I will not have the exact same copy. I think the 'wood' on mine looks just as good or better than the original.

However, I do think the spirit of the Wizard design should remain. Looking at the original, I get a sense of earth (wood) meet space (stardust from glitters). That was the main draw point for me. There are no glitter in the back piece of the original which means the concentration of the glitters is in the front part. So, IMO,  its not the matter of differentiation on my piece, more of a different process being applied to get different result.

Keep up the amazing work nevertheless. This certainly won't be my last Noble, so I'm keen to give feedback when I can. Cheers.

For those of you asking about the Look Book, I overheard Brannan telling people at CanJam that it should be up in the next week or so.

Speaking of CanJam, I stopped by for a bit, and it was really neat to watch people try the Noble products. I wish I could have taken pictures of people first putting in the IEM, then maybe a second of hesitation followed by in many cases a big smile spreading across the listeners face. After that the listener usually gets a very deep, serious look as they get lost in the music.
It would have been cool if there were a way to capture some of the quotes from people trying these out, or even better the smiles that the Noble booth generated yesterday.

How about a Wizard Re-Vision? Or Wizard Reboot? Along with an explanation "Each snowflake is unique, just like you, snowflake."

Yeah, something like that. At least customers will know they won't be getting an exact copy, but something similar, say 80% identical? That way, customers won't be expecting a perfect replica, and it gives the Noble team some margin of freedom to introduce a complementary yet unique take on the desired design.

I don't know about others, but I was not expect a 'replica'. Certainly don't want it. I want it to be unique but with the same concept. My point was, it was done in a different spirit than the original. The glitter did not appeared to give the 'look' on my piece. Its seems to be simple 'option' to add glitter on normal design, not a work of The Wizard

Take a look at this spectacular piece below. Its clear that you are looking at a galaxy far far away. If you order and paid extra for this reprint because you like this 'look'.

If the glitters on 'Re-Print' of below piece did not show to give you the same feel -  No matter how the shapes of the stars looks. You'll get a wonderful blue piece with some spec of glitter. I'm pretty sure you will be disappointed.

Its wonderful that all piece are unique and I think they should remain so, but for a re-print, the spirit of the art has to still be there.

Anyway, I don't want to distract from wonderful job Noble is doing. I'm pretty sure I will forget everything once I have the music flowing.

I swear I'm not trying to placate you, but with the light wood on the faceplate and the gold nugget going on, I think I prefer your set over the reprint picture you posted!  It's all just a taste thing I guess!

I just got back from CanJam and Noble is front and center stage. Good job on the marketing.

I was very happy to meet the guys (Brannan is a lot taller than I thought, either that or I'm a lot shorter than I thought...lol).
I'm extremely happy that I got to sit down and essentially listen to the entire line up that Noble has to offer. The universals are smaller/lighter than I imagined.
They all sound great, of course. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the universal 5's. Great stuff Noble.
