The Sad State Of The So Called Audiophile DAP Market

So if I were to buy a new phone now, what would be your suggestion? I don't mean a specific smartphone, more like an OS. I like how Windows Phone is smooth as a butter even at low hardware phones. I hate how even a flagship droid starts to lag and kill itself after a year. I hate how stubborn Apple is and their overpriced iPhones (at least overpriced to me or at where I live).

What I would value in a phone, as a 5 years of Android user, it should just work flawlessly, no lag, no stutter, it shouldn't kill itself out of nowhere, when I have 90 percent battery before I fall asleep I shouldn't see it has 8 percent when I wake up. It shouldn't get too hot to touch cuz something stupid works in the background like mad and suck the battery (nowadays my Swiftkey app does it pretty often). I don't know man, Windows Phone seems like a nice option cuz I don't wanna pay huge amounts of money for no micro sd phone even more so to increase the internal capacity.

Honestly, I say buy what you think works for you. The sad truth is we don't have enough choice on the market to thumb our noses to anyone. Hopefully that'll all change in a decade or two once NFC starts to gain traction and people start to realize the potential, Until then we're all stuck.

Maybe I should wait Nokia's return next year

Lol, I hold as much faith in them as I hold for Blackberry. Who knows, I'd applaud Nokia or Blackberry if either of them proved me wrong. At the very least they might shake things up a bit. It'd be nice if somebody did.

I agree, problem is most manufacturers don't care about making a great sounding handset. They only care about features, apps, and doing it all for cheap

I think when this thread was created there were genuine problems facing us. The entire root of this thread was indeed DX50 and how unstable it was on release to my understanding. We had other players being targeted like Studio V, all of which rightfully so and justified.

Move on to today, iBasso did eventually get DX50 basically stable (not perfect) but quite good with added features, enough for me to own two units at the same time, yet you read back earlier in this thread I was full-on about its instability and weak sound. Things did change, it took a long time though.

By the time DX90 released iBasso had things fairly ironed out. Since then there's been a huge increase of DAPs released, the market is becoming pretty saturated, many coming from China. They're getting there slowly, lifting their game.

FiiO are the most impressive to me in stability atm, their players are some of the most stable, bug-free at least IMO.

Its funny actually, because comments and certain utube vides still hang around to this day. Only two days ago I was explaining to someone who read iBasso players will fall apart and unreliable that things were eventually ironed out.

I don't have much hope for BB to be honest, their Passport was wonderful but such a niche product won't save a company. Then they made phones with several years old cpu and stuff, of course didn't sell well.

I heard things like Nokia can still enter to the smartphone business, it will be something like N1 tablet, built by FoxConn I guess. They use their own customized Android, which to be honest I don't enjoy much. I think the best Android is always the pure Android just like on Nexus devices, they lag and get bloated the least. However, in Nokia we trust, well at least I do

There isn't much for me to confess, I still think they're a dog company for their insulting and patronizing attitude. I'll tell you what Lucas, I'll shoot a completely new video and indicate that the DX50 is now stable and usability has vastly improved. Please just give me a week or two though. Lately I've felt like I'm walking through quicksand due to other matters that happened in the near past. You'll have your video though. I won't break a promise to a friend.

I definitely feel there was no real excuse either. We were used as mass population  beta / guinea pig testers, actually blatantly obvious we were.

The experience was a real eye-opener for some of us, volume bugs etc.

You make that video when you're ready, no rush.

That's $9878 AUD.

When did you find out this new pricing, recently?

Maybe, just maybe after AK380 was released?

Ahaa, just found out today.
I am just trying to ask for the contact number of the guy who is selling him his weed, must be some strong stuff.
