I observed that the latest firmware sounds better than the DX100 even though I've never experience DX100 before

Maybe one every 2-3 months from now?

There should be another one in about 2 weeks to clear up some remaining bugs, then the emphasis will be on greater reliability and stability.

Upgraded to 1.2.2 last night with minimal challenges. I did encounter the issue with the unit not recognizing my microSD card, but connecting and disconnecting to my computer's USB port solved the problem.

Listened for several hours and noticed the SQ did change in comparison to 1.2.0. To my ears, it seems that an "echo" effect is present.

So on my DX50 with fw 1.22, I just got a different battery in, its KINPS branded, didnt know what to expect, but there is a definite difference in sound from stock battery, bass has increased immensely, more slam, more sub bass, treble has been tamed slightly, sound stage is smaller, everything sounds closer to you, vocals and instruments are all forward without being harsh, over all I prefer this sound. The stock battery sounds more balanced overall, but the treble is extremely tizzy for me and the bass is too soft, although the stock battery sounds a bit more transparent, and wider which I really like. Now I definitely want to try out a samsung battery, as the change in SQ from battery change is quite significant to me.

I get the impression that there is a lot more power behind the KINPS battery. But from the stock battery I get the impression that the power is cleaner. I'm hoping a samsung battery will combine both these traits :)

this is how i do all my firmware updates:
- remove my microsd
- factory reset the dx50
- plug the dx50 to my win7 pc
- load the new firmware to the internal memory
- safely remove dx50
- perform the firmware update
- plug the dx50 back to the pc and delete the firmware image
- safely remove the dx50
- perform another factory reset
- insert my microsd back to the dx50

so far i've not encountered any problems with these steps

I tried this exact method and it's been stuck on the Ibasso splash screen for maybe 10 minutes after rebooting? updates seemed to go well, no errors i could see. I left the music on the internal memory, but did do a factory reset before the update. anyone? thx
