A question for you dudes with golden ears...

Please advise which USB stick or which portable hard drive will have cleaner, more detailed sound using OTG?

The iWaste 4.0 64 GB should give you better sound than a regular 64 GB Corsair or La Cie stick. Though solid state deives are more power efficient and able to transfer data at higher consistency and speeds, I have found floppy disks to bring out a blacker background and obscene amounts of detail.

My IMO.

On a more serious, non trolling note, SSD might really be better than mechanical hard disks since there are no magnets and moving parts in it. We know how sensitive the DX50 is towards interferences. The DX50 can pick up stray mobile signals and produce that ticking sound even when my handphone is more than a metre away.

Hi, I been using the dx50 for a couple of weeks and I love the sound and the way I´m rediscovering new songs, but I experimented something today, I was listening to an album and suddenly the volume went all the way up, it hurt like hell. Have you experimented something like this??? I repeated the album, the songs everything and it didn´t occur again. I like to hear music while working on the computer or commuting, but if this thing is going to be changing the volume it could even cause some severe damage.

Could be some kind of bug, personally I have not experience such problems yet, cold be just a one time freak accident.

Yah, that bug got me a few times alsp...

The only remaining issue i have with this player is the "long file name" instability..

Check out the dx50 bug thread which talked about firmware update and such

Good thing about this player is that most head-fiers have one by now...!

Which batch DX50?
Will it be for early 70s prog rock or more for late 60s art rock?
How many channels was the source recorded in before it was mixed down?
Stock cables or aftermarket IEM cables?
Silver interconnects or copper? and how many strands?

There is just not enough info to tell what the best battery charger, battery, USB stick, and OTG cable combo is right for the ultimate in fidelity.

I will tell you that the Transcend brand should be the best for tunes like "8 Miles High", and "I Can See For Miles and Miles," as well as "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds."

IMO

(almost forgot to put that in, because that makes whatever you write here unassailable, since after all it doesn't matter if it's a bunch of nonsense since it is just an opinion.)

Hi guys, just put in the order for the DX50 and would like to ask what are the recommended iems that has good synergy with it. It's a long thread so please pardon me if it was mentioned before and hope this would also help prospective buyers like me (when i was considering it) have an idea what works best with it. Thanks in advance.

What is the file system on your seagate? Usually Fat32 or exfat works on DX50. Did you try the OTG cable on different device?

How do i know if my seagate is fat32 or exfat? I tried the OTG with nokia 701.. But it doesnt work too..

easiest way to determine the file system of a hdd: in My Computer (assuming you're using Windows), just select the drive, then on the status window on the same screen, look for "file system"

if the OTG cable doesn't work, do you have another one that you can try?
