I've updated and did the factory reset, but all my music files are still there and were not erased. Is this normal?

Factory reset shouldn't delete anything in the SD, and probably not the second partition on the internal storage that you get to use. Not sure on that second part, though.

yeah, I meant the internal storage. No files were deleted as part of the factory reset

also had the same question before - it was mentioned that it was the relays in the amp that's turning on/off

I already fixed it by unplugging the DX50 from my PC...a little bit odd, but as long as it works

This update made the DX50 complete for me
Flawless media scanning , working battery indicator, album art is showing up correctly and so on.

yeah that works for me. one of those strange quirks but the scans work 100% now so all good here

Damn, it turns out it only works for some songs. The soundstage has gotten bigger, I swear. 
 
It turns out that all my songs after N are stuffed up. Any idea why?

Lol about the lock, now I remember why I don't use it. To be perfectly honest, it's hard to accidentally click on the the volume or even the buttons so won't miss this feature.
