Yes, they both work. I tried the famous square white high powered iPad charger and that is working so well I have one permanently connected at work for that purpose. I also have my new iPhone 5, not the gold 5s

 charger and that one works too. They are both rated 5volts and have enough juice to charge the Piscen battery in the DX50 or the special SamSung battery

  It would work if the DX50 would act as a DAC from the USB port but then how are you going to access the cards in the unit if it does? They would have to program the double functionality so that the DX50 would act as a sound card through the control panel and mounted as drives for the internal memory and sd card, quite a bit of an orchestration from the dap, not impossible but hard to program. I believe the iRiver AKs perform that although I can't say for sure as I do not have one of those expensive daps.

We both know DX50 will not support the USB DAC functionality. I was referring to just charging the DX50 while plugged-in to a PC/Mac and still plays music by itself. It appears it's not possible at the moment.

I guess you gonna have to forget that idea for now, it just does not work, whish it would though I can certainly keep my dap plug on my PC and still bob my head in the meantime.

I believe that the battery life of the Pico Power is more than double that of the Quickstep. This is not only because it has two 9-volt batteries instead of one but also because the Quickstep burns a fair amount of power on its active balanced ground. (The Quickstep has 5 opamps.) I have never done an accurate comparison (plus the batteries are not equal of age which unfairly favors my Pico Power) but I would say that the Quickstep with a new 500 mAh Li-ion 9 volt might get 12+ hours while the Pico Power with its two batteries might even approach 30.
 
These numbers are just impressions from lots of use and could still be somewhat wrong...

That's the best thing you have done short of suggesting the DX50 to iBasso and they are the ones collecting the money and an instruction manual that will never come. Thank you for being so pro-active, I think iBasso should seriously offer you a job working from home on their electronics, like a user manual for example.

^ There has been much discussion of this in other threads and opinions are divided. I am in the crowd that likes the swappable externally charging 9 volts used in both the PP and QS. When travelling, I just take a spare (or spare set), not the charger. Worst case scenario, I can always buy a set of cheap alkalines (although in practice I really never have to). You will never run out of power... For sure, it is a matter of taste.

We all get the same treatment, to be honest I find the EQ useless on the DX50 because of that, you got to crank the amp when you turn EQ up and the sound improvement is just not there. That mainly explains why I never use EQ on a player and never will. If I can't get the sound I want out of the regular unit, then the dap is not for me.

This is more or less my experience as well. Thankfully I do like the stock sound of the player, although i do want just alittle more sub bass at times.
the only EQ that I've found to be responsive is the one provided by rockbox. It's been on my modded d2+ for as long as I can remember.

We both share the same experience, my iMods with RockBox sound so good that the DX50 had a hard time competing, it still does but those were heavily iModded so not your typical iPod, I had such a hard time matching the sound that I still have both of my last units with me and I don't want to part with them, I did sell my Classic 7th because it could not compete period. The sound is just so melodic with no emphasis anywhere expect a little more bass but that is so good, that is what the Wolfson chip is good at.
