Loaded the new firmware and same thing still n. It is a shame as it sounds good when it works right but since day one it has not worked right for very long.t lacking the songs through and there is a hiss now evident. if they don't fix  this this will be  a bust product for them. We are doing a review on this product at audio360.org an I been patient waiting for this to work right. My other review partners is also having the same type of issues.  Ibass needs to step up and fix the issues with this player? I check the now playing directory and its showing another album that I first kurt on this morning and that worked correctly but the new ones are back to stopping g after the first track and it does not show in the now playing directory. Man this is frustrating as hell because sit sounds good when it works right but it does not work right for very long. Thats the way this one has been from the first day. ZToo bad because its not working properly and whi knows if it ever will.

I just got mine today and been listening to it for over an hour. So far I don't hear any hiss with my H-200 at lo gain. Have not tried mid or hi gain yet

Why would you go for the ZX1 compared to the similarly priced new model from Sony? What is it the 886 or the 887?

For the static issue I've had with previous DAPs like my iRiver U10, try carrying a ziplock bag of sriracha in your other pocket. It neutralizes the electromagnetic effects for some odd reason, kind of like a ground. The one in the clear bottle with the green tip works best. I feel like it cleaned up the sound a bit too, a blacker stage or something.

Just be more careful than me and use one of those very well sealing bags. This is no area to be stingy.

+1 Sriracha is great with and for everything.

And I'm still struggling with my dx50 freezing.  Just sitting at my desk at work for approximately 8 hours it has froze at most 5 times in a 8 hour period.  This morning it has froze 3 times and I haven't even got to finish the play through of a single album.  I am patiently awaiting the firmware updates this Friday to see if it helps.

I love the sound quality of this thing though.  While it's horribly annoying that it keeps freezing, I keep going back to it rather than my phone.  Not to mention I GREATLY appreciate the 256 step volume, opposed to my phone's 8 step volume.  lol

I've generally come to expect that new technology is going to be buggy.  So I don't blame iBasso for anything.  Apple did a worse job with the first and only iPod I ever bought.  Copied my music over, and anytime I did anything it froze / crashed.  Apple support couldn't even figure it out.  I hated that device, eventually replacing it with a creative labs zen which worked flawlessly until it just died of natural causes.

With iBasso, this is my first experience with what seems to be an audiophile grade 'high performance audio player'.  It has bugs, but at the same time I love the thing.  Possibly not enough to keep it around much longer if it keeps freezing however, I'll need to RMA it and try another and if that is also faulty may need to look at Fiio or something.

I had a few freezes when I got my 4th batch, havent had a single freeze in at least the past 10 days however, my music is ripped with MAX on mac, some mp3's from google play etc in there and I use the directory browse on the player and some playlists.

I understand there still are glitches with the player, all I'm saying is I'm not encountering any

I just loaded my old 16GB micro SD full with 24-bit ALAC files. Playing tracks by Album. The DX50 can't seem to read some album artwork. It's fine, so far smooth sailing. Here's mine in action

I have been able to go two full days without any freezes.  Why exactly I do not know, it was part of the randomness.  So some days I have gone without any freezes, while others up to 5 freezes.  Really is quite random.  And consistently random, not easily duplicated.

All of my music is flac.

I haven't had any issues with it reading album art, that displays fine for everything.  However I have been considering removing all album art from the music files.  This ultimately fixed my issues with the ipod with my mp3 collection.  It just didn't like the album art, so removed all of it.  Creative labs zen and my android phones haven't ever had issues with the mp3 album art though.  And my newest android has no issues with my current flac collection as it is on the dx50.

Greetings all,
This is my first post on the board having followed this thread for many weeks now. I just got my DX50 and wanted to share my first impressions from my POV of a noob. I'm not an audiophile by the standards of many here but I do have a quest for high quality listening and a love of music. My point of reference so far is listening via my Macbook using itunes with Bitperfect app a Nuforce Udac2 and Sony MDR-V6. A basic first set-up for me.

So here it is:
Ordered from MP4Nation on 10/16, got delivery notice Monday 10/29 and it was at my door on Tuesday morning! I'm considering my experience with MP4Nation excellent as they performed exactly as promised. (haven't tried out the free Brainwavz R3's yet)

Mine was batch 6, I think and came with 1.2.2 firmware. And, it came fully charged which was a bonus.

I read the great FAQ thread and everything else on this thread so I was not sure what to expect when I first used the DX50 but I'm very pleased with the ease of getting it started.

I loaded a Sandisk 64GB micro SD with about 50GB of music that was a mix of ALAC, AAC and MP3. I did this by simply drag and drop all of the folders from the itunes music folder on my Mac. I was worried about all the tagging issue etc. I've heard but I just copied everything over exactly as itunes created it.

Next, I plugged micro SD card into the DX50 and turned it on. (the 4 second hold for the button is no big deal for me, that's how my IOS devices work to power up)

I instantly saw my folders on the DX50. Cool! I hit "Play" and got the "Scanning" message. I was in for a wait, but it lasted only about 30 seconds or so then the first song started.

I only had time this morning to listen to three songs, so I won't comment on SQ yet or other advanced operations. But, I will say that going from the box to listing to hi-rez music only took about 8 minutes and I'm a happy camper!! I'm using my MDR-V6 on the High Gain setting and liking that sound as it compares to the uDac i'm used to.

So, this is just a first impressions report, and I can't wait to play with it more but my initial reactions are:
-Really easy and intuitive to set up (with hindsite from this forum)
-Touch screen is nicer than I thought it would be, good feel, sensitive enough and reactive.
-Overall build and feel is way better than I thought, feels good.
-UI seems more than enough for my needs but I'm sure I'll find something I wish was different as we all do with just about anything.
-If this first use is indicative of future use, I love this player!

So, thanks to all of you who have tested prior batches and FW versions and reported back, it's a great help to noobies like me.
Thanks,
Scott

Ok, I just wiped my DX50, reloaded FW 1.2.2 and tried to load music, no go but I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't do a factory reset. I then did a factory reset and inserted my 64gb card with WAV, HiRez up to 24/192, FLAC and Apple lossless. All works without a hitch. I am listening to Santana 24/176 right now. Art is showing up on whatever I have it loaded on except WAV of course.

I just wanted to see if I needed to do more than one factory reset, if I had any freezes or any type of hang-up. It is all working. No volume problems. For voice I prefer 1.1.6 but 1.2.2 is the most open and layered in sound. And amped the sound is exquisite.

From FW to listening with the factory reset it took a few minutes.

Is the PNY 128gb SD card class 10 proving to be the best price and use card? I ordered a micro to standard SD card adapter. Those with the PNY, are you reformatting to fat 32? I think I would like to use it in the 901 as well and for that I would need to use the reformatted card.
