what do I do now? the yellow triangle thingy is there because of - you guessed it - no signature... it tells me there is latest version installed when I try to update it and all...

Someone had a similar experience than you few pages back, I suggest you go back and search for the solution, although I don't think he was able to recover. iBasso should reprimanded for that, no excuse for poor driver installation, I had to repeat mine 4 times and then it worked. You may want to wait for an update if it's not going to work out for you.

Try reboot your PC, and before it showing Windows logo press F8 keys. Then choose Disable Driver Signature Enforcement. Then, install the driver again.

I have to agree with this in reference to the driver.  The usb driver was on the site ready for download before the FW (1.5.0).  Why would they just not wait until the sigs are taken care of before posting it up for download.
 
I installed it on my XP machine with no probs and used it as a dac for a while but of course on Vista & 8.1 the whole signature thing kept popping up and it was just not worth dealing with.

Thumbs up for the mega explosion v1.1! The sound is enhanced with clarity, details, separation and with smooth vocals. Slightly upfront vocals. Bass level is also much tighter and deeper with both greater quality and quantity than 1.5. Slightly brighter sounding than 1.5 though. Really worth a try for those who haven't!

 

  I have to say DOC2008 V1.1 MEGA EXPLOSION beats iBasso 1.5.0, hard to believe but true, now If I could only get rid of DOC's popup orange window.

 
 
BTW I have just added DOC's DX50 MEGA Update on the version download page, just let me know if I messed up.

 

Factory firmware 1.5 was fun sounding for a while but I missed the original Doc2008 MegaSound Explosion overall clarity. MSE Version 2 was too bright for me and a little fatiguing over extended listening for me (Olddude I believe these were your concerns as well)
 
Mega Sound Explosion 1.1. installed yesterday and I am well happy with it, all is right again! (I think it has the same sound as MegaSoundExplosion if I am not mistaken, it's just that USB DAC has been tuned on)
 
Doc2008 I am not really digging the MSE splash screen design, sorry. I totally understand the need to to have your name on the firmware but the hand grenade/microphone logo and those colors are not good IMHO. Could you possibly do something more minimal and refined like the stock DX-50 logo (which looks great), maybe just small typeface on same background as DX-50 logo. Anyway it's no big deal really as you only see it briefly. The important thing is the sound.........which is great.

When installing the Dark Bass Edition firmware, which one do you use? The one inside the cwm folder or the one next to it?

I've been trying out the various firmwares today.  I find the stock 1.50 to be too dark for me and it was the same with the Sound Explosion.  Am I correct that the Mega Sound Explosion is the brightest one out there for the DX50?
